Our cricket demands principled leadership

ROFL
Is there any principled leadership any where in the Caribbean? I believe all the WICBandits should be in jail but they are not alone. If there is one principled PM or Opposition leader in the Caribbean I would like to meet that unique person.
It seems that suddenly some people get Religion ; or was it a Saul on the road to Damascus moment .
Time will tell whether this is real or
the usual B.S. that is prevelant in the Region ; or a sincere Statement .
In this very Forum I am on record regarding the Ills of West Indies Cricket , and what must be done to
restore our Fortunes in the International Cricket Arena .
Obviously Time will inform us all,
regarding the sincerity of those
who now claim to see the Light . Dr.
Rudy Webster has consistently been a Critic of the WICBC , I not only respect his perspective on
cRicket , I agree with him .

All he's saying here applied to him when he was a high school principal.
It's amazing how clearly we see things when it's the other person and not us.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Some section of the cricket fraternity must think highly of him, he just gave a couple of speeches
One was the Keith Boyce and the other was either Friday or Saturday.

Was a former BCA vice president and team manager etc.

I thought Broome was your homie,

Yes
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
He makes plenty sense.
Just take a minute to look at Darren Bravos situation, his career is being destroy, but people nurturing skills, is still in its infancy.
Sir Frank was smart and kept Roy Gilchrist, can you see a person like Gilchrist playing on a West Indies team today?
Clive fought for his players to play for Packer
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
u are not Sudden, you can be critical of your hommies, he was here last week for a memorial service, I did not get the chance to chat with him.
In reply to tc1
He's my friend but he ran his schools just like he's accusing wicb of acting.

Alexander didn't send home Gilchrist from India?
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
That why Frankie had to fight for him, remember that Frank batted on 197 for sometime.
He understood the Caribbean social strata, and fought for the under-dog.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy/ Openning
That right Alexander send him home, Cammie Smith and Hunte finished him off, murdered him in the mudland
In reply to tc1
Alexander was part of the elite, with little management skill.
He would fit right in with the WICB style of management.

Some Charlie Griffith fans may disagree

I would not say that, It was reported that Gillie's conduct was not in good standing, sometimes you have to use disciplinary measures.
For the last Twenty years this WI org has been making a multiplicity of errors. It is high time this West Indies team includes at least Three WI White cricketers in the Mix.
Look how good SA is playing cricket with three Black Africans and One Indian in the mix? This disparity could change however, within the next twenty years where majority rules.
The white cricketers would bring a different perspective in this 21st century to this WI cricket org.
In the words of de PG Donald: What do you have to lose?
In reply to tc1
I manage people for almost 30 years, and we had procedures when discipline employees.

Not true! Worrell did not keep Gilchrist after Cpt Alexander sent his rass home from the 1958/59 India tour for disciplinary reasons. When Worrell took over the captaincy from Alexander for the 1960/61 tour of Australia, it was rumoured that Worrell wanted to reprieve Gilchrist and include him in squad but the WICBC would hnve none of it.
To the best of my knowledge Gilchrist had never played in any WI team captained by Worrell.

Thank for the info

u missing one important fact, that Hunte and Smith murdered and plundered Gillie in the quadrangular tournament in BG and hindered his return to the team.
our cricket need JAH
at this point i dont know what else to say
In reply to tc1
If IYO the reason why Gilchrist's return to the team was hindered by the fact that Hunt and Smith plundered[sic] him in the quadrangular tournament in BG, then like everyone is entitled to have an asshole every is entitled to possess an opinion.
I must remind you however, that the last time Gilchrist represented the WI was in their last match, North Zone vs the West Indians , Feb 1959. after which time he sent home for disciplinary reasons by Capt Alexander and not allowed continue with the team to Pakistan.
Since then Gilchrist had not played for WI or for Jamaica in any regional competition. So how being plundered[sis] by Hunt and Smith could have hindered his return to the WI team is beyond me.
Since grown people in the Worst International Cricket Board are behaving like petulant Children ; it is becoming very obvious that they must be supervised .
I therefore propose that their activities Must be Supervised by
the Governments of the Region . it
is a blasted Farce to state that the
WICBC is an Independent Entity .
It uses Public Faciities to stage International CRicket Matches , It has no Police Force , to ensure the safety of Players & the General Public that attend Cricket Matches ,
ANY ENTITY THAT BLUNTLY
REFUSES TO CHANGE ITS
STRUCTURE DESPITE
COMMISSIONING SEVERAL
REPORTS THAT TELLS IT THAT IT
NEEDS TO UNDERGO STRUCTURAL
CHANGES , NEEDS TO BE
SERIOUSLY SUPERVISED .
The stark fact is that since its founding , the WICBC has refused
to change its modus operandi .
It is true that those who were at
the genesis of the WICBC , were of
a different pigmentation .
Sadly , WE are now saddled by the
MIMIC MEN , who relish mimicing
those who founded the WICBC .
This is a classic case of the well
known addage :
" MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO ".
Ah what Fools WE Mortals are .

No need to be nasty and brutish with your opinion, the fact reminds that Gillie was in the JA team in 1959 quadrangular team in prep for the English tour and was murdered by Hunte and Smith, he was in ineffective and therefore Frank could not select him for the Aussie tour.
