In reply to trev114
Scary- Per Capita KFC rules in Jamaica. Go figure

Not only Jamaica, but it's a shame to life when new patterns of eating are born out of lifestyle - more readily available fast foods and less time to cook

This started in Trinidad now it has affected the whole of the caribbean

That new kiss cake factory is going to make matters worse.

Time for intervention. It has affected our cricketers. Come to think of it though, it hasn't affected our sprinters.
Maybe UWI can help to create good eating outreach programs beforei it's too late. This will impact healthcare not too long from now.

Look I have Benz and Bimmer friends who tell me I am crazy to eat fresh fish almost daily - they say it's too expensive. I'll keep my Corolla and avoid processed food.
Go figure.

In reply to Curtis not only in Jamaica, but places like Mexico to near to even to the Artic where loads of Eskimo is suffering from diabetes. Britain is also suffering an obese epidemic. It is now the fattest country in Europe. We don't walk any more, or eat what we grow like our grand parents did over 50 years ago. For a twenty minutes walk we pay the taxi to take us. Look around and look at the women how many tyres they are carrying around their waits. This is scary because not only, diabetes, heart and high blood pressure are dangerous. But to the Jamaican economy, and health service.

Don't talk about B'dos - the amount of starch and sugars consumed is extremely high, and its effects are manifesting in heart issues and high levels of diabetes.
Seems that in a world where rising population and supposedly threatened food supplies are flagged as major risk to human life, that a fairly large segment are obese or eating the wrong foods in abundance
In reply to CurtisI know the poor needs to sell goods, but not a school gate. The government needs to get tough with companies, that is adding more sugar or salt to goods. I am sick and tired of hearing company bosses making the poorest excuse ever.
In reply to londoner
Only women?
In reply to Curtis
The urban poor eat the most processed foods - not to mention the sugar loaded drinks.
