You missing the point- those Cubans in Miami- the rich ones who fleeced Cuba pre Castro and then flea Cuba post Castro, albeit with some of their wealth, were Spaniard invaders who were slave owners- they were racist to the core- hated blacks after they had slaughtered the original Cubans.

That might be why he made the racial comment, but not why he's a Republican. Cubans, like all other Hispanics, supported the Democrats until Kennedy refused to intervene during the Bay of Pigs. Since then they've found every reason to support Republicans. They're Christian and don't support abortion. They don't believe in welfare (except the wet foot/dry foot handouts they get), Democrats are communists. Democrats are weak on national security.

Fortunately, the younger 2nd and 3rd generation Cubans in Miami are seeing the light. Nobody else in the US cares about Castro or what he does. Why continue with failed policies after 50 years!
