You need to win this series. That should be the only change.

Think bold selectors...Cornwall for Luckyshoo.
In reply to voiceofreason
Bishoo's ROLE in this TEAM is to provide a spin option, bat at 9 and occupy the crease preferably in tandem with a batter and he is an asset in an already weak fielding team...no we all like Cornwall but the only similarity is that of a slow bowler...so assuming that you are SURE Cornwall will make the bowling stronger are will he fill the ROLE that is required by the TEAM, then is it really Bishoo's position?
In reply to voiceofreason
Even in victory you can't resist insularity
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
yep. Bishoo is too Indian for VoR.
In reply to NewsJunkie
No. It's more where Bishoo was born and lives
I vote that the team stay as is VOR.
In reply to voiceofreason
with all those 400+ score against LI this season?
In reply to voiceofreason
You think we'd play 2 off spinners? Why do you think that's a good idea?
But Bishoo gets wickets, Why drop him? We are one bowler short, so I could support Cornwall replacing a batsman
In reply to Baje
you can't drop a bat until Dorwich develops into a consistent batsman.
In reply to voiceofreason
It's not a pageant or a popularity contest... Bishoo has done well with bat and Ball to be retained for the final test.
In reply to voiceofreason
You want to drop Bishoo but keep the baseball player?
DWL!
Summarised scores:
Merry Boys 161-6 (20 overs) (Isaiah Rajah 39, Amir Jangoo 37, Lincoln Roberts 33, Ranga Latchana 24, Rishaad Harris 18 n.o.; Ahkeel Mollon 3/22, Rahkeem Cornwall 2/21) vs Clarke Road 146-8 (20 overs) (Kyle Hope 65, Yannick Ottley 34, Clevon Kalawan 18 n.o.; Keon Isaac 4/15)
VOR will be happy. Cornwall busy playing in T&T at Lara stadium.
In reply to camos
Thats the dilemma, we have a weak batting line up, and we are 1 bowler short. I am willing to gamble that the extra bowler will make a bigger contribution than the extra batsman.
In reply to voiceofreason
Just ask KFC to prepare the lunches for all 5 days of the 3rd Test. That will get him to the ground.
In reply to voiceofreason
Absolutely agree.
"Whatever food you are eating for breakfast keep it up, because Cornwall will add the needed venom to our present pace and spin if we continue to only have 4 full time bowlers (with part timer Chase as fifth)"
Although I am edgy with Singh give him a third rodeo and hope for the best. Singh simply has a problem in facing faster bowlers. Someone, please help the young man.
In reply to solidrock
How? By threatening to eat the batsman?
In reply to voiceofreason
Picking Cornwall would be thinking big, not that is the same as bold!
Didn't Bishoo get 6-80 against OZ the last time WI played in Dominica?
This test match
In reply to Narper
Bishoo no good bro
In reply to voiceofreason
Cornwall will FILL all spaces if he merely shows up...
However...The team stays as is.
In reply to SnoopDog
He could work - if intimidation is the goal
In reply to voiceofreason
I would go one further and say drop Singh, move up Dowrich and the skipper one place and fit in Jimbo at 8. That will solve 3 problem in one. we get rid of the weak link in the middle order, we bring in an extra specialist bowler and we maintain the batting strength of the lower order.
In reply to aliaskid13
Hope snd Singh added an 80 runs partnership for the 6th wicket. As we saw, the others tumbled cheaply. That partnership was vital in giving us the lead that we posted. I will not drop Singh for the last test but retain the same team.
In reply to voiceofreason The 13 will remain unchanged as per lockhart sebastien.

I see you on a roll today man
You have me cracking up.
In reply to Runs
We look like we're playing a bowler short. And the Dominica pitch is spin friendly no? So why not add another specialist spinner? That would be Al Jo and the Angel up front, Skipper third seamer, Bishoo and another spinner (Cornwall in my opinion) plus Chase, and KB as the part timers to run off some overs if needed.
In reply to sgtdjones
It's the over before lunch Bro.
You can understand the bowler's tactics in this situation.
In reply to SnoopDog
In reply to Narper
He got the cream of the crop too. Interesting enough, Dowrich was batting at #4 then
In reply to aliaskid13
Very well done. Brilliant team!
In reply to voiceofreason
Where will he field, can take first through third slips
Think about this....it wouldn't happen but think about this:
Reifer for Singh
Cornwall for Bishoo
....would strengthen both our bowling and batting!
In reply to Runs
not nice
In reply to analyst-kid
Why do you think that Cornwall is a better bowler than Bishoo?
Of the current WI bowlers, Bishoo gets the most wickets per match (almost 4). You would like to drop him for someone with zero Test experience from your territory?
Should we also do this for every future Test?
In reply to voiceofreason
Drop the baseball player..Thats bold.
In reply to Norm
I truly can't understand the reasoning by some.
Cornwall for Singh and Roach for Bishoo.
Only changes I'd make.
But the team good as is
In reply to DIEHARD
I could support an extra pacer: Roach or Taylor for a batsman,
but what evidence is there that Cornwall is better than Bishoo? Besides, look at Bishoo's numbers over the last five tests against the same opponent and tell me why you would drop him?
In reply to Baje
Ppl expect the selectors will drop a batsman in a weak batting team? and one that has won 2 in 3 despite a much maligned bowling attack and especially when all of the major teams play 4 specialist?
England is an anomaly because they have Butler, Stokes and Ali so the team dynamic is very flexible. We certainly can't replace a batsman for Cornwall because he is not a front line batsman. He does not make the bowling unit stronger if he replaces Bishoo.
So the question the selctors will ask is do the likes of a Reifer, Mayers and every other 2-dimensional player qualify as a genuine all-rounder if not Cornwall. Me thinks they are right now all of the same although all could be useful squad and role players. They each don't command a certain starting role.
The only change to this current team is a batsman for a batsman or if we choose to play another pacer for Bishoo if conditions demands this, or we are so inclined.

We have a weak batting line up and need to shore up eleven w a batsman.. Make sense. WI cannot keep relying on tail-enders to bail us out regularly.
In reply to mkcharles
Our batting lineup is weak. However I believe that dropping one of our weaker batsmen will make minimal impact on the scoreboard.
I do not believe replacing a batsman with Reifer or Mayers make any sense, I do not have that confidence in their bowling and they are mediocre at best with the bat. I really havent been able to assess the quality of Cornwall. My preference would be a proven seamer like Roach or Taylor. I think that Pakistan will always dismiss us for 300 or less. Our best bet is to keep these games to low scoring affairs.
In reply to Baje
I think West Indies need to be bold and give the Cornwalls and Reifers a look in.
Maybe they could be our Ali or Stokes.
Moving Holder up to 7 also gives the team more options.
I think Cornwalls returns in A team games shows that he deserves a trial at the next level
Hetmyer and Singh are in due to their D.C. performances against international competition. Look at their stats first against Sri Lanka A. Then against Pakistan in the tour game.
Cornwall also performed well
In reply to voiceofreason
What, Chesney Hughes and Twinkletoes are not available?

In reply to Baje
I am partial to another pacer like Roach or K.Joseph but I do understand what the selectors are doing. The performers for the past 3 seasons are getting a chance until they stink up the place. Hence why Cummins will stay in the squad and Singh gets a look in.
Mohammed does not present a persuasive enough case for them to bypass a youngster because 12 months or reasonable performance (check the stats), does not undo 10 seasons of underachievement. As for Taylor he must tell everyone the circumstances concerning his retirement then non-retirement.
Cornwall is close but the issues with his mobility are real and the selectors have said so. He can only field in limited positions and can only run long ones to start with so ppl need to tell him what he has to do and stop belly aching about his non selection. I saw him at Kensington this season an although I know he is a talented player he was absolutely awful that match in all three dimensions. It is a fact that the Selectors and Coach were present specifically to have a close up of him.
