I would not be so harsh but you couldn't pay me to go to North Korea.

Otto Warmbier got "what he deserved".
Well, I do not think the guy deserves to die, but his parents and him were irresponsible and careless about visiting a hostile nation. The Professor was truthful in most of the things she said, but she should have used softer words, knowing that people at the moment are grieving his death. However, there are a lot of grown kids in America who are victim of Afflueninza, who thinks that there should be no consequences for they doing whatever they feel like doing.

So true, entitlement and privilege.

Even among the not so rich
University of Delaware has cut ties with professor Katherine Dettwyler after she said Otto Warmbier 'deserved' to die for stealing a poster in North Korea
Dettwyler was not employed at the time of her statement, and her contract will not be renewed, the university said
In the post she said Warmbier was a 'young, white, rich, clueless male'
Otto Warmbier died Monday after being imprisoned in North Korea for 17 months

She said what was mostly true at the wrong time. Six months down the road, she could have written the same thing and be even a bit more expansive in her thoughts.
No one deserves to die through the hands of the state for a personal mistake, such as this.
What this writer did was to directly attack White America in a very sensitive area - the privileges enjoyed and always felt entitled to.
But, back to reality, how many Afro-American have died at the hands of the "state" often at no fault of their own, except for being black?
I'll bet Nitro has an answer for that.
