He requested to play in Pakistan Premier League and was declined by the then WICB...now CWI

I would not be surprised if CPL and IPL franchises were told "hands off" JH by CWI. Don't know why they would be opposed to him playing among the best cricketers in the game....but...so it go I guess

A few years ago, I watched a 1st Division game between Empire and YMPC with Roland Holder as the wicketkeeper, I asked Bessie, who was commentating why is the BCA devaluing our cricket, with what going on, at the highest level of cricket in the Island.
His response was cricket has been devalue in the Island for sometime.
Barbados cricket can be strong again, we can produce world class players again, the history is there

Yes, Barbados has produced some of the best the game has ever seen. But has Barbados, far less the rest of the region, kept apace with the improvements in the modern game?

There are physical improvements, improved training techniques, improved nutritional habits, psychological improvements, improved coaching methods, improved facilities, major improvements in technology and analysis.

And that doesn't even take into consideration the administration of the game off the field.....player management, human resources, marketing, legal, IT, etc

It should have become clear by now that talent, even aligned with hard work, is simply not enough in the modern game.

Bro, when you know Conde Riley is targeted to be the next president of the BCA, after being part of the board for almost three decades, you know something is wrong with the BCA and its people.
Conde has not aide the BCA in producing any quality international players, in decades, but because he can recite every Rule and policy of the BCA and the CWI, people think he is knowledgeable.

I reckon Holder would have been a much better cricketer hadn't it been captaincy. His bowling had more energy and threat prior to captaincy. He average 30 with the bat in test, about 23 in ODI. His bowling average was better before captaincy.

When the team was filled with Trinis, West Indies won 2 World Cups. Why complain about that?

I am one who criticises Holder's captaincy but to be honest he has no challengers for the position right now.

The English Tour could throw up Kyle Hope, Shai Hope, Kraigg, to challenge him for the test captaincy if they do extremely well.

In the ODI Kyle Hope,Shai Hope,Jason Mohammed again are the ones if they do extremely well who could challenge him for captaincy.

Let us not revise history music man.

The last T20 championship team was not filled with Trinis.

The total squad had 4. Simmons (who was not in original side) played 2 games at end and Lewis played 1.

And we had to put up with your bitterness, cynicism and sunglasses long before we won the 2016 T20 world cup. So why were you complaining?

Do you know the reason behind these decisions.....

with the West Indies being in England from early August to September and the CPL beginning in Early August to September do you thing I would have made sense for him to make himself available for the CPL draft when he may not be available?......sometimes it is better for some of us to get the facts first and then speak.......we rush to be critical when all the while we just need to know what is going on.........just sain.
