Trump And The Russian Mob Money

Unger also documents that criminals and oligarchs lived in and ran illegal activities out of Trump properties, including Trump Tower in Manhattan, for more than 30 years. They provided Trump with some of his most lucrative branding deals, the ones in which he was not required to make any personal investment. The unending flow of Russian money, Unger writes, that “provided Trump with a crucial infusion of financing that helped rescue his empire from ruin, burnish his image, and launch his career in television and politics.”

Correct.
Prior to that Trump had the worst credit rating for a businessman in the US and no bank would touch him.

I can see why he is so staunchly loyal to his benefactors.

However it would take an act of God for Republicans - both his supporters and the US congress - to see or attach any wrong doing in Trump's antics/ collaboration with the Russians during the US election.

The fact is , had Trump decided not to run or drop out of the race, the World would not know what they know now.

His base is fully supportive, they do not care and he knows this, hence him and his henchmens smugness.

It never ceases to amaze me how these people with lots of skeletons in their closets run for public office. The Greeks had a word for it - hubris.

I keep telling myself that is the silver lining. Americans were smug that their registration process was secure and their voting/ballot process was safe from hacking. Trump and his cronies will force them to consider the unthinkable.

Hubris indeed.

Trump had 30 years practice honing his BS skills and milking the gullible. As a man without scruple or couth he was ideally suited to ride the wave of duplicity the Republicans had been preparing since 1960s. Even with his brazenness I still believe he knew he had Russian support much earlier than we now believe.

The Mercers brought (and bought) Kellyanne Conwas, Bannon and Cambridge Analytics on board as soon as he won the nomination.
