Kohli's a Chicken for Short Pitch Bowling?

Emir 2017-07-26 07:32:59

Pradeep to Kohli, OUT, On-field umpire Oxenford shoots down SL's appeal for caught behind. Herath consults with Dickwella and chooses to challenge the on-field not-out decision. Chest-hunting bouncer on middle stump, Kohli shuffles across off and ventures a pull. But he ends up getting into a tangle. Dickwella leaps off his feet to collect the ball over his head. Was there a snick? Was there a bit of glove? There is a deflection. On close-ups, a splinter of wood is flying off the bat - clear signs of a deflection. Top edged behind to the keeper. Ultra Edge detects a little spike. TV umpire Tucker reverses the on-field not-out call after examining several replays and angles. Another quality delivery from Pradeep, he takes down Kohli. The Indian captain was harried by the short stuff in the Caribbean as well

This is an era with the weakest global fasting bowling stock in many generations. In the 70, 80' 90' 2000 there was so much more quality and quantity, what would have happen to Kohli in those days? He is hurried and roughed up by fast medium and inexperience boys all too often, for someone who wants to be compared to Azar, Rahul, Mohinder, and Sachin he has a very long way to go.

If you check Brian's 153 not out you will notie that he ducked for many of the short pitched balls, but later started to murder it.. There is a difference leaving alone short pitched balls and playing "get out" strokes. The difference is shot selection.

"I vex with Koli. He was so confident that he could murder that bowling that he got out because it was too easy for him."

Yes, he did but against Akram, Waqar, Donald and the other greats and indeed the very best batters of all times would have also not be "comfortable" against them.

But never did he struggle against a lil Pradeep wink

It's because he's Indian and he's a threat. They'd rather quietly praise a Pujara or someone similar who poses no competition to their greats of the 1800's.

Same goes for Tendulkar. Try to find a black person on this MB who will openly admit that Tendy is greater than Lara. There's a better chance of the chicken at a Chinese buffet actually being chicken.

Please don't engage Emir. He is a truck driving Muslim fundamentalist and a hater of everything Indian.

Fair point, but Kohli's "century" was made against the weakest international team right now when Inida had all already won the game.

Heck even Zimbabwe almost spank them.

wink

When Root was onto his double no one criticized him on the board.

Well, one person did. Called him a home bully.

Kinda ironic.

So yes, really.
