Is it Janieve Russell or Leah Nugent?

"Leading the pack to break up that juggernaut is Jamaican Janieve Russell, who's performed well in July, winning in London with a 54.02 season's best, and finishing second in Luzern and Rabat and third in Monaco. Although only 23, Russell, the 2012 world junior champion, comes armed with major championships credentials, which include a fifth place finish at the 2015 World Championships and a seventh place showing in Rio last year. Jamaica will also be represented by Rhonda Whyte and Ristananna Tracey who were 1-2 at the national championships, the former with a 54.39 personal best."

Janieve Russell?

"Jamaica's 400m hurdler Leah Nugent revealed that her below-par performances heading into the London World Championships were, in part, due to a tweak in her technique. That aside, she is now ready to deliver."

Or Leah Nugent?

Men's discus Group A

I didn't realise Travis Smikle was a left-hander...second so far with his first throw of 63.23.

Slipped down to seventh place after three throws.

About 50,000 in the stadium...hardly any seats free.

Men's long jump....

Damar Forbes (Jca) 7.93 advanced....

Tyrone Smith (Ber) 7.88 and Ramone Bailey (Jca) 7.76 did not.

Americans Marquis Dendy and Jeff Henderson fail to advance.

Men's discus Group B

Dacres 64.46 with his first throw. Not bad...then he throws 64.82 for automatic qualification.

Smikle just scrapes into the final as the 12th and final qualifier.

Blake struggled mightily. dont know if he is still feeling the effect of that injury that cause him to pull out of the diamond league.. Senoj Givans... seriously? waste of a plane fare. Semis tomorrow will be interesting... they will almost have to go all out to make it through
