lol
Sloane Stephens vs madison keys. Last year I watched them playing doubles together at Wimbledon. They were laughing with each other and having so much fun together. And damn they could both hit the ball hard! I only appreciated how hard they hit the ball when I stood a few metres away from them.

Yes both hit it hard but edge to Keys. Sloane Ranger is the better mover but Keys has improved in this department. Advantage keys in serves. Should be a good match

Two black girls in a Grand Slam Final and not one of them is a Williams sister....this is history.

Of course as we all know the Williams sisters made this possible by tackling the racist tennis establishment and beating them all.
cool
I'm sure Stephens and Keys acknowledge the pioneering role played by Venus and Serena.

The first break of serve goes to sloane Stephens. ..3-2 in the first set.

Stephens breaks again to take the first set at three.

mikesiva 2017-09-09 17:05:03

Stephens surges to a 3-0 lead in the second set.

Now up 5-0! This is dominance.

Poor Keys doesn't seem to have a Plan B - see'em hit'em hard. Most of her shots arere not the flat kind like Venus's, so she hit them long, for unforced errors.

Stephens is playing the same game she conducted against Venus, just put the ball back in play, let the opponent make the errors.

Does anyone recall Boris Becker pulling out of a year-end tournament back in the 90s because he felt that the prize money to the winner was too much? Does still hold today?

Now this was a satisfying Finals...
Yall saw the crap from Sharapova and her delusional book she is about to foist on a certain section of the Tennis loving crowd?

certain section cause no serious person will waste money buying that crap.

I couldn't remember who made the comment but I know another one came from some of the men who say they play 5 sets (usually 3 hour plus matches) and women play 3 setters (most of which are 2 setters) so that is why they "justify" a higher salary

Sloane was even surprised when the lady gave her the cheque and told her "$3.7M"
big grin

Padna, that certain section of the tennis loving crowd is huge and Sharapova and her book is in no way delusional. Sharapova is a business woman and knows how to flip the coin when her game is not bringing her the big bucks she is accustomed to

Here is a recent piece on her fandom, marketability and business acumen

Is Maria Sharapova still a box office draw for sponsors?
