methodic 2017-09-08 13:40:07

you know they can't drop him. They have nobody better than him

methodic 2017-09-08 13:55:45

very good innings, that delivery was almost unplayable

In reply to methodic... almost?

Depending on the batsman.... lol

lol lol lol Dem kinda deliveries you stand at the non-striker's end and thank God you were not on strike.

Which batsman you have in mind?

sudden 2017-09-08 14:00:03

In reply to Walco

there is no such thing as an unplayable delivery. it depends on who the batsman is. in my day and Spud's day that would have been 4

natty_forever 2017-09-08 14:02:53

In reply to sudden... if you say so.

lol

Exactly. Powell is a mediocre batsman and hence a better batsman would've more than likely got to the pitch of the ball and played a shot...for example.

Unlucky?

If Stokes had held on to the chance when Powell was on 6, that delivery would have been moot!

robbo 2017-09-08 17:34:23

Good innings... not convinced about Powell but that was a superb delivery.. no blame attached there... looked better in this test but will have to produce more in the future to convince me that he actually has a future.

I did not think it was an unplayable delivery, neither was KB, the wicket was playing much easier today.

I was in London was a week ago and I must give these guys a lot of credit as the conditions are very different to those in the Caribbean.

Walco 2017-09-08 17:39:26

In reply to sudden

lol lol lol The only way that woould have been 4 runs was if Powell was batting 2 feet outside his crease

It sure was!
Even the other KP would have been castled as well.

Played the line....just enough movement to miss the bat and hit the top of off!

No disgrace to be bowled by a bowler ...playing at home with 500 test wkts behind him.

...especially as he had just reached his dreamed milestone.

Oilah 2017-09-08 17:57:06

With some deliveries yuh just got to be lucky smile

dayne 2017-09-08 19:22:29

Powell will benefit greatly from the experience of this tour, I expect him to be better because of it.

TanteMerle 2017-09-08 19:51:19

What facking playable delivery.

You peeps here listen too much to bias Hinglish comms.

If you play early,
with a stiff front leg.
down the wrong line,
well yes, ten its unplayable.

Bad batman-ship led to that dismissal assholes.

Look at the replay.
Play down the wrong line with a stiff front leg.
Also the bat came down to leg-side
with a gap between bat an pad.

learn cricket idiots.

shock shock shock

embsallie 2017-09-08 20:24:15

Stop worrying about Powell; he will be fine..
You guys need to concentrate on K Hope. That guy is a big time waste. I bet you Shimron would have scored more than 1 run in two innings at bat.

Kyle cannot complain about chances given. He had six innings to redeem himself.

Not quite...

The ball first swung into him in the air, and then moved away from him off the pitch. That is one of the reasons why it beat him.

cool

A little bit ?...... wow you really think so ?.. we all entitled to our opinions and having had the benefit of watching that delivery numerous times on slo motion I think it was exceptional.

Powell has no movement and just stands and push his bat out to the new moving ball, should have been out very early, dropped in the slips early on.A batsman like Powell will give the bowlers a chance every 2 or 3 overs, teams know he will go sooner than later.

Cut him some slack. That ball was about as perefect as it could get. It's the ball every fast bowler dreams about when he closes his eyes. The ball we dream about when we're at the top of our mark. The ball we imagine would castle even Viv Richards himself. Every last one of us. If he was going to get out there's no shame in getting out to the dream ball.
