The Canada Caribbean Disaster Risk Management Fund (CCDRMF) is one component of Global Affairs Canada’s (GAC), previously the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), larger regional Caribbean Disaster Risk Management Program. The CCDRMF is a competitive fund which is designed to support community-driven projects that seek to enhance the resilience of communities and reduce risks from natural hazards (e.g. floods, droughts, tropical storms, hurricanes) and climate change.
I inquired today about this and will be given information by the Government of Canada.
My topic was setting up what you have on various islands in the Caribbean, prone to be
in the hurricane belt. Think how useful that would be if such could be funded on a permanent basis.We would have communication and information available.
I saw 50 amp generators that are selling cheaply to farmers by their Co-op.
The director told me that they would look at funding such
a project if a proposal is made.
