Guyana really looking to utilize all that land .

Guyana needs to be careful that this good gesture doesn't come back to bite them.
Especially in the case of Venezuela.

strange gesture - Guyanese are usually the ones fleeing for jobs and opportunities
maybe just a passing comment
It is a good gesture by the Guyanese Gov't. Guyana needs people the population is too small, more people will eventually cause job creation, more jobs mean more development. However I believe most Venezuelan will migrate to other Spanish speaking countries.

Yep they can tun up Guyana...but one thing is clear here and it's the acknowledgement that the country is underutilized, but in the bigger picture that may be the best thing.
Who knows with nature acting up and the fact that we living on an environmental knife's edge where anything can happen in an ever evolving earth Guyana may be the only refuge for the entire region in times to come .

Maybe Guyana's simply putting things in place for the expected future boom.
Maybe the politicians thinking ahead?

The population is too small by design. People are fleeing to any which way they feel safer and can eek out a living. Are you Guyanese? If so why didn't you stay and populate the place?
