Why should you have faith?

Can you justify your faith?
what is faith?
In reply to ray
Pertains to religious convictions
we all need some opium to make it thru life
In reply to ray
But you agree opium is bad for you correct?
In reply to conman
You have to laugh when a conman comes asking if you can justify your faith. As a matter of fact, just laugh when a conman comes asking any question.

Ok, enough jokes, answer the question.

why have faith?
In reply to conman
in faith or in science?
In reply to doosra
explain?
where is there faith in science?
science needs evidence
faith is the lack of evidence
In reply to conman
faith in science is not the same thing as science needs evidence
read slowly
In reply to doosra
Who said anything about faith in science?
In reply to conman
you can have faith in science
Faith is belief in the unseen and unproven, Science is based on facts. That simple.
stupid question. Personal credence is on a level beyond "justification". The answer is irrelevant. You ask 1000 people you will get 1000 answers. Consider it useless data.

So why have belief in something unseen and unproven ?
In reply to ray
Explain?
In reply to pelon
untrue, everybody tries to justify what they believe. Especially in the face of what can be moral superiority
You ask 1000 people you will get 1000 answers.
Good, lets hear them and weigh them
In reply to conman
Faith allows humans to do this.
Not all humans are wired to believe in facts and science as you can surely tell from the posts on this thread. Nothing is absolute.
In reply to conman
A man does not believe or have faith in God because he has to justify it.
That is the point I am making... ASKING for a justification is disingenuous.
You can't apply logic to faith.
On why the question is flawed:
In reply to Runs
Faith allows humans to do this
do what exactly?
In reply to pelon
no he doesnt, and he rarely ever is asked to justify it
im asking them to, i want to hear why
In reply to conman
Forget it dude, get a thesaurus and look it up I tried.
In reply to pelon
Ditto.

Ditto.

The truth is what you choose to believe.
You do not justify the truth.
It is that simple.
In reply to nick2020
The truth is not what you choose to believe, the truth is the truth.

Uncertainty principle, also called Heisenberg uncertainty principle or indeterminacy principle, statement, articulated (1927) by the German physicist Werner Heisenberg, that the position and the velocity of an object cannot both be measured exactly, at the same time, even in theory.
Good Luck black!
If only more Christians read their bibles thered be less Christians
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
You can quote the most incredible parts of the Bible and that won't change anything to a believer
In reply to nick2020
Perception is reality but that does not make it true. It just like faith, these guys believe in something but don't have the slightest idea if it's true.
People still believe that the earth is flat.
Some people believe Trump is honest.
Some people believe Russian fake news.
