conman 2017-10-05 08:55:57

In reply to ray

Pertains to religious convictions

ray 2017-10-05 08:59:31

we all need some opium to make it thru life

conman 2017-10-05 09:02:33

lol lol

You have to laugh when a conman comes asking if you can justify your faith. As a matter of fact, just laugh when a conman comes asking any question.

doosra 2017-10-05 10:51:51

In reply to conman

conman 2017-10-05 10:55:51

In reply to doosra

why have faith?

doosra 2017-10-05 11:03:05

In reply to conman

in faith or in science?

conman 2017-10-05 11:27:25

In reply to doosra

explain?

where is there faith in science?
science needs evidence
faith is the lack of evidence

doosra 2017-10-05 11:31:51

In reply to conman

faith in science is not the same thing as science needs evidence

read slowly

conman 2017-10-05 11:32:52

In reply to doosra

Who said anything about faith in science?

ray 2017-10-05 11:57:31

In reply to conman

you can have faith in science

Runs 2017-10-05 12:03:59

Faith is belief in the unseen and unproven, Science is based on facts. That simple. wink

pelon 2017-10-05 12:06:15

Can you justify your faith?

stupid question. Personal credence is on a level beyond "justification". The answer is irrelevant. You ask 1000 people you will get 1000 answers. Consider it useless data.

(you should seek advice from Grand Master Black the Mighty Trojan Horse of Questions and Queries )

conman 2017-10-05 12:30:40

In reply to Runs

So why have belief in something unseen and unproven ?

conman 2017-10-05 12:31:03

In reply to ray

Explain?

conman 2017-10-05 12:44:09

In reply to pelon

Personal credence is on a level beyond "justification".

untrue, everybody tries to justify what they believe. Especially in the face of what can be moral superiority

You ask 1000 people you will get 1000 answers.

Good, lets hear them and weigh them

Runs 2017-10-05 12:46:16

In reply to conman

Faith allows humans to do this. cool
Not all humans are wired to believe in facts and science as you can surely tell from the posts on this thread. Nothing is absolute. wink

pelon 2017-10-05 12:53:13

In reply to conman

A man does not believe or have faith in God because he has to justify it.

That is the point I am making... ASKING for a justification is disingenuous.

You can't apply logic to faith.

On why the question is flawed:

Can you justify your faith?
Can produce a binary response or shortlisted response.

How do you define your faith?
Produces an answer for evaluation.

conman 2017-10-05 12:57:06

In reply to Runs

Faith allows humans to do this

do what exactly?

conman 2017-10-05 12:57:57

In reply to pelon

A man does not believe or have faith in God because he has to justify it.

The truth is what you choose to believe.
You do not justify the truth.

It is that simple.

black 2017-10-05 16:32:46

In reply to nick2020

The truth is not what you choose to believe, the truth is the truth.

Uncertainty principle, also called Heisenberg uncertainty principle or indeterminacy principle, statement, articulated (1927) by the German physicist Werner Heisenberg, that the position and the velocity of an object cannot both be measured exactly, at the same time, even in theory.

Good Luck black!

If only more Christians read their bibles there’d be less Christians

You can quote the most incredible parts of the Bible and that won't change anything to a believer

Perception is reality but that does not make it true. It just like faith, these guys believe in something but don't have the slightest idea if it's true.

People still believe that the earth is flat.

Some people believe Trump is honest.

Some people believe Russian fake news.
