85/3 now. Resumed after lunch.
In reply to yardman83
Palmer out for 21. Primus gets his second wicket.
In reply to mikesiva
Yard batting been brittle since the start of the tourney. They missing players like every other team. I know Allen is an aggressive batsman and Morrison showed some application in the 2nd innings against the Jaguars. We need a good score here.
JA 150/4
partnership building 65 off 80 balls
In reply to JR_Cool
150 for 4 seems OK for most teams in the region especially most missing so many players, another 150 and is 300.
In reply to granite
the TT bowling attack would not give any batsmen nightmares!

I think that goes for most sides in the PCL.

Good to see the young new players getting runs. It bodes well for WI, Our, cricket.
How good is young Allen? I hear the Trini commentators gushing over King but what about Allen? I guess King is the new flavour.
Allen's knock is remarkable too..
In reply to buds... King better than Pagon
It is surprising that the same J/can batting was crumbling against Guyana spin last week.
In reply to dayne... first time some travelled, getting use to playing away from home.
In reply to dayne
They crumbled first innings but were under scoreboard pressure in 2nd innings thus could not express themselves
WHat is this commentator saying? Fabian Allen was born in 1955?
In reply to yardman83
King goes lbw Richards for 98. Sad he never went on to get the century.
In reply to yardman83
Pity. Allen got his century though. Allen is a decent all rounder who can bowl spin and is an excellent fielder.

In reply to mikesiva... well I'll take a ton from Ramdin, but everyone else can fail.
It's not easy when the scoreboard say 400+ amd you field 1 1/2 days. PRESSURE
TT bowling has no penetration. I get the feeling selectors mostly concentrate on batting and overlook the bowling which they take for granted. Ramdin is NOT a good captain, too defensive in my opinion.
In reply to azadtnt
These comms are clueless. The over is halfway through and he is calling the end of the over
In reply to azadtnt... then if the man have no bowling, how should he go about it?

79/4. Cariah 26 and Webster 21.
Cariah will be the key for TT. He will need someone to stay with him. Scoreboard pressure due to weak bowling attack normally creates this type of pressure.

Never--Best since Headley
The stats on JA make no sense. Fabian Allen 3 innings--135 runs??
Cariah got a raw deal from the selectors with the A team. As a leading batsman last year and didnt even played a game says a lot about geographic prejudice by the selectors. So he has a point to prove to the selectors that he is one of the better batsmen in the region.

Cariah, Webster halt Red Force slide after Scorpions post 432*
TOUGH BATTLE AHEAD
DESPITE a late Red Force fight back led by Yannic Cariah and Tion Webster, the Jamaica Scorpions were still on top after the second day of the regional four-day match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, yesterday.
A 195-run fifth wicket partnership between Fabien Allen who scored an unbeaten 169, and Brandon King who made 98, helped the Scorpions to an imposing 432 and if that wasnt enough, four early wickets from pacers Jason Dawes and Derval Green put the visitors in firm control.

JA to extend lead today..
Declare, I assume, in a hope to win the match on the last day. One team scored over 400 and the other could have scored over 400. I cornfused...why not just try to get 1st innings points?
In reply to methodic
What would be the point of batting on? The only way T&T can get more points out of the game is by trying to get a result. 110 overs had been bowled so dere were no mor bonus points available
In reply to camos
This points system is silly. How does it prepare you for test cricket?
Garvey out for 20. Imran Khan gets his first wicket of the innings.
Jamaica 37-2
In reply to buds
Ramdin hoping Garvey will come good.
In reply to Oilah
Dere are no first innings points anymore, just bonus points that are obtainable in the first 110 overs of the first inning, s fast bowling points and points for wins and drawn games.
All T&T could count on yesterday before the declaration were
3 points for an incomplete match plus batting and bowling points in the first 110 overs of the first inning plus fast bowling points
Bonus Points
Bonus Points awarded only for performances in the first 110 overs of each first innings and retained whatever the result of the match.
a) A maximum of five batting points to be available as under:
200 to 249 runs.............................................. 1 point
250 to 299 runs ............................................. 2 points
300 to 349 runs ............................................. 3 points
350 to 399 runs ............................................. 4 points
400 runs or over ............................................ 5 points
b) A maximum of three bowling points to be available as under:
3 to 5 wickets taken......................................... 1 point
6 to 8 wickets taken......................................... 2 points
9 to 10 wickets taken........................................ 3 points
For the avoidance of doubt, wickets taken shall relate exclusively to batsmen dismissed under Laws 30 to 39 inclusive and to batsmen retired out.
If penalty runs are awarded to a team which at that time had faced less than 110 overs in their first innings,or completed their first innings before they had faced 110 overs, those penalty runs will be considered as counting towards the total as far as the award of bonus points is concerned.
If penalty runs are awarded to a team which had already faced 110 overs or more in their first innings, or had previously completed their first innings after they had faced 110 overs, those penalty runs will not be considered as counting towards the total as far as the award of bonus points is concerned.
The bowling points were introduced this year and probably folly the same pattern as what applies in U19 and U 15 competitions

Jamaica 48-4
In reply to mikesiva
Ah doh see anything wrong wid the points system except the fast bowling points. We cyah keep preparing rank turners and roads and expect fast bowlers to prosper. Now everybody wid a long run is registered as a fast bowler to get fast bowling points.
Successful Test teams are scoring at 3+ runs per over in their first innings. Snore fests will not help the image of test cricket and will only hasten it to the grave.
Another 100 and Yard cyah lose,TT should have batted till they pass Yard score and declare today,50 lead is precious in some cricket matches, like this one.
In reply to granite
Fabian Allen retired hurt? Green batting.

Allen didn't come out, Green did.
No reason given for why Green and not Allen, commies were speculating that it was a move to try and throw off the bowlers.

Got the Polly-Atlantic scholarship in 2014.
Now this is his 2nd ton in just his 4th match. Hope he can carry on.
Cariah too, after last season, coming back and hitting a ton straight away, another good season and the selectors can't ignore him one would thing.
They need to get back Rajah into the side, at the expense of a bowler it seems because the batsmen on the team is pretty settled apart from maybe Solozano.
Jangoo, Cariah, Rajah and Webster, those are the 4 to build the batting around (not counting Ramdin as he superior at this level)
On the bowlers its been disappointing, I've been one who have wanted us to move away from Imran Khan for a while now.
IMO he is already in his prime or maybe past it and he is never gonna be able to make it to Test match level so I would rather try others who hopefully one day can get to that level.
I dont want players who are only good at this level.
Pierre and Charles are disappointing coming from what we had before, Jaggs in his prime, Mohammed, Khan when he had just started back. Still maintain Kantasingh is better than all of them currently playing.
Richards has been disappointing last season and this, one would think that he'd be pushing for a Test place but he is lucky to be holding on to his Red Force place due to lack of alternatives.
In reply to XDFIX... following senior team policy.
