Rangpur Riders vs Rajshahi Kings, 9th Match

Rangpur Riders....134

Johnson Charles c Waller b Mehidy Hasan 2

Rajshahi Kings.....138

Lendl Simmons run out (Thisara Perera) 53

: A walk in the park for Rajshahi Kings. After reducing the Riders to a below-par score of 134 on a slowish track, the batsmen didn't put a foot wrong. The Kings' openers - Simmons and Mominul - went after the bowling from the third over after getting their eye in.

At the end of the powerplay, they were 48-0. Mortaza and Co. weren't effective with the ball and allowed both the openers to register their respective fifties.

The 122-run stand was broken by Thisara Perera who picked two wickets within a span of 4 balls, but the damage was already done. The Kings won with 20 balls to spare.

Dhaka Dynamites vs Sylhet Sixers, 10th Match

Sylhet Sixers.....101 (9 wkts, 20 Ov)

Sunil Narine 4 fer 10 runs 3 wickets

That they managed to last 20 overs is an achievement for Sylhet today. Dhaka came hard at them and choked the run flow with regular wickets. Afridi was brilliant with his four-fer and so was Narine. However, some lusty blows from Abul Hasan and T Islam in the end just about managed to earn Sylhet a semblance of respect by taking the team over 100. Stay tuned for the second half...

Dhaka Dynamites...106 for 2 wickets

Evin Lewis, Cameron Delport, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Kieron Pollard, Shahid Afridi, Sunil Narine, Mosaddek Hossain, Jahurul Islam (wk), Abu Hider Rony, Khaled Ahmed, Mohammad Shahid

Evin Lewis .....44 not out

Wow! The table toppers have been massacred by the home team. Just imagine what would have been their case if Sylhet's final pair had not added those 40+ runs.

Chasing a below-par score, DD sent out two of their most powerful strikers to open the innings. Afridi went BOOM BOOM straightaway and Lewis joined the party. They raced away to 59 - more than 50% of the target - in four overs.

Bresnan struck twice in two balls, but that was the only teeny-tiny phase in the match where the visitors found success (or did they?).

Shakib joined Lewis and together they blew apart the Sylhet bowlers. In total, eleven sixes were hit in the innings.

Carlos Brathwaite 4 0vers 29 runs 1 wicket

A comprehensive win for Khulna Titans after posting an above-par score of 170. The Vikings lost their top four inside five overs. And from there, it was always going to be a tough task for them. Misbah was joined by Raza and they added 49 runs, the latter being the aggressor. Misbah couldn't find his timing and was dismissed for 30 with his strike rate around 80. Reece and Hayder played their shots in the end, but there was no way Chittagong could go past the finishing line. While Khulna move to the third spot, the Vikings with this result will reach the bottom of the points table.

Lendl Simmons retd hurt 40

Dwayne Bravo 4 0vers 28 runs 1wicket

A thumping win for Comilla Victorians. They make a mockery of Rajshahi's 115. Sami bowled a superb first over conceding just one run. But then, Liton Das went berserk. In Reza's first over (second of the innings), the wicketkeeper batsman scored 22 off five balls before getting out to the same bowler in the same over.

That set the tone for the chase. Buttler was joined by Imrul Kayes and they didn't put a foot wrong. they respected the good balls and punished the bad ones. Both batsmen remained unbeaten with a 97-run stand and took their team past the finishing line.

The Victorians romped home with 29 balls to spare. Earlier in the evening, it was the Afghanistan duo of Nabi and Rashid Khan who restricted their opponents to a below-par score.

Unsurprisingly given only the sealing hit that stays in mind, it is Jahurul Islam who is the Man of the Match. Also, Dhaka move up to the top of the table with this win. That's it from this nail-biter. But the ground and all of you have a few minutes to renew your vigour for the next match set to begin shortly.

This BPL has had its game. All the twists and turns that you could fit into a script were on display and it is the star-studded Dhaka who romp home on the back of some local talent. An absolute crushing defeat for Khulna, who at one point were firm favourites after pinning Dhaka on the mat at 41/5.

But it was Pollard who smoked six maximums and some of the bowlers' souls with them. The faster bowlers pulled it back to even at the death, but Jahurul Islam with his reverse scoop was too hot to handle on the day.

sgtdjones 2017-11-14 10:35:51

21:24 local: The victorians fluffed in the first seven overs, losing both openers and scoring under six, but once Imrul Kayes and Buttler got together there was a spring in the step.

The duo injected the much-needed momentum with some clean ball striking and had the asking rate under their grasp.

Both fell out looking for biggies, but Samuels 8-ball 17 was the cameo they needed to complete what has been a magnificent night for them.

And thus, with this victory they leap to second in the points table. They are on tie with Dhaka Dynamites, with the latter possessing a better NRR.

Rajshahi Kings vs Sylhet Sixers,

Sylhet Sixers.....146 (6 wkts, 20 Ov)

Andre Fletcher c Franklin b Sami 0

Kesrick Williams 4 0vers 32 runs 2 wickets

The innings never took off till the 15th over - but oh boy! Sylhet Sixers have jetted to a challenging total. Thanks to Sabbir and Bresnan, who sparkled at the end. Last 3 overs has yielded 54 runs. Rajshahi floundered away all the advantage when they had their opponents at 92/5. Gave far too many at the death. The chase won't be that easy as this looks like a tricky pitch.

Rajshahi Kings....150 (3 wkts, 17.3 Ov)

Darren Sammy,Kesrick Williams did not bat

A comfortable run-chase from the Rajshahi Kings, sweeping off Sylhet's challenge of 147 without too much bother. The pitch was too good, and the target too small. Once that opening partnership between Mominul Haque and Rony Talukdar found some rhythm, it became very difficult for Sylhet to pull things back. They did fight back with three quick wickets, but Zakir Hasan's quickfire half-century killed them off.

sgtdjones 2017-11-17 09:54:28

Khulna Titans vs Chittagong Vikings

Chittagong Vikings......160 (5 wkts, 20 Ov)

Carlos Brathwaite 2 0vers 20 runs 0 wickets

An innings that can be divided into three parts. Sarkar and Anamul set the base with a 95-run partnership for the second wicket. Khulna then orchestrated a comeback through Abu Jayed, who picked up two wickets in the same over to dent Vikings' prospects. But 52 runs from the last 5 overs propel Chittagong to 160. Khulna have to blame themselves for leaking too many towards the end, courtesy of their woeful fielding; dropped a plethora of catches today.

Khulna Titans to bat 164 (5 wkts, 18.2 Ov)

Carlos Brathwaite batting... 10 not out

There were a few crests and troughs in the Khulna innings. But that was until Mahmudullah and Ariful Haque got together. The duo took their time early on and didn't panic, even with the required rate touching nine. Then, to ease the pressure, Ariful unleashed a couple of smashing blows and turned it in Khulna's favour.

Dhaka Dynamites vs Rajshahi Kings, 19th Match

DHAKA 201/7 (20.0 Ovs)

Evin Lewis c Mominul b Hossain Ali ... 64

9.6
Hossain Ali to Lewis, out Caught by Mominul!! Elation for Hossain as Lewis pulls this straight down the throat of deep mid-wicket. Not only that, this is also his first T20 wicket. Doesn't need mentioning how desperate Rajshahi were to see the back of Lewis. Huge wicket.

Lewis c Mominul b Hossain Ali 64(3cool [4s-10 6s-1]

19.4
Hossain Ali to Pollard, 2 runs, this is a miscue off the toe-end, but it lands safely. Well bowled by Hossain, getting the ball very wide and even Pollard couldn't reach out. But he still comes back for two, bringing up the 200 for Dhaka and raising his own half-century

Kieron Pollard not out 52

Sunil Narine b Hossain Ali... 0

RAJSHAHI 133-all out (18.2 Ovs)

Darren Sammy (c) c Saddam Hossain b Shakib 19

Sunil Narine 4 0vers 32runs

Dhaka solidify their position at the top of the table with a commanding performance. The two West Indians - Lewis and Pollard - set it up with blistering fifties with the bat, and then the bowlers hardly gave a sniff to Rajshahi, who were just not up for it today.

Catches dropped in the field, toothless bowling, and some very lacklustre batting from them, after their win yesterday. So they continue to blow hot and cold this year. Here's Shahid Afridi for an interview..

Game seen live at 7am

Earlier in the day, it was Gayle's show. He took his time to get his eye in and after that he went berserk. Other BPL teams, watch out for this big Jamaican! That's all we have from this game.

Much-needed win for Rangpur Riders. They will get out of the last position with this win. What a comeback from Mortaza's men! At 25-3, Nasir Hossain was joined by Sabbir Rahman and they went after the Riders' bowlers with a century stand.
At the end of 16 overs, they were 135-3, needing 35 runs. The time-out was taken and the momentum shifted towards the Rangpur side - thanks to the 2-run over from captain Mortaza. Rubel and Thisara Perera held their nerve in the death and executed the yorkers superbly.
