Did not see the wicket ball but I notice his bat is too angled as an opener...ball new, play in the "V" and always present a straight bat!

He's a middle order batsman.. not a opener.. prefers spin instead of de quick stuff..
Is years now he getting out in d 20s and 30s.. plays some lovely shot but d concentration level not there.. used to be suspect against fast and short stuff.. improved a bit when it comes to that..
De most improved player gotta be Rutherford.. he had a reputation of being ah cow lasher.. good to see he's taking his time and bat..

You need to tell him to get serious ASAP.....and ask him to play with a straight bat...makers name should always be read by the bowlers...yuh better nah tek Googley's advise....Berbice advise will destroy his cricket...Permaul, Deo, Fuda and Chattergoon comes to mind!

As previously stated he's not an opener. But it is partially a lack of concentration.
It's OK to push through cover to the new ball provided you're playing late (like Methuselah) and respecting the conditions (wouldn't be pushing at all outside off on the pitch India and SL are playing on).
That's actually the worst thing with young Guyanese batsmen I see, they don't play late and have hard hands. Deo, Chatters, Chandrika, Cheesy, et al. Hety too but he's a different type of player.
