I lived in San Fernando when I was a boy,Park Street to be exact near Skinner Park.A neighbour had one of those Capuchin monkey and when school children stopped to look at him,he would show them his "willy",the girls used to laugh.

Tufted Capuchin, they come to my back yard now and then mostly around this time of the year, not smelling them though, you smell their fruity droppings when they're around..They can be a handful if they get used to you, they will get bolder and bolder and probably end up in your kitchen..one of the smartest animals on earth and one of only a few to utilize objects/'tools' to solve problems.

You can see them close to the road and over the road in some cases on bamboo lower down Chaguaramas by the golf course..

So far the ones by me just strip and drink the coconuts just like the squirrels, have a vid somewhere on them jumping from tree to tree and raiding our trees a couple years ago..a neighbor got a baby in her kitchen and I told her to release it behind the wall because the whole troop were going crazy looking for it,happened to see her email on the neighborhood group asking anyone if they lost a baby monkey with a pic,and I replied..

We have 3 species of primates here, the others are the white fronted Capuchin and the almost ape like Red howler monkey, you can hear the howlers sound resonating in the hills at times..may even be spooky to some..

nice bro - last year I was in Chaguaramas (I think) hiking up a road sloping up with trees on both sides and saw a howler monkey in the trees.

Yeah man it's great having these experiences,in T&T all you have to do is live on the fringes of the forest and you can have many wildlife experiences, honestly wherever there's bush you can have some sorta encounter, even on an empty lot in the middle of suburbia,be it an iguana a parrot ,snake, opossum, anteater, squirrel huge butterflies and beetles etc .....and I imagine Guyana/South America and Cen America would be the similar, but our small size and being islands creates a concentration and facilitates regular encounters..

Once we were clearing out and filling a water logged lot in POS,found 4 different snakes of different species and all kinda of swamp life including a couple swamp birds, crabs freshwater, conch and crayfish...you can also find them in drains everywhere..plenty caimans and land turtles in open drain systems everywhere too..
