The forked tongue of the Granger Govt

For a govt whose platform was anti-corruption, fairness and inclusiveness, I find them insidiously the opposite. They are very skillfully in spreading a progressive narrative while in reality doing the opposite. Lets examine their current record...

While in opposition the APNU/AFC lambasted the PPP govt which employed GINA(govt info agency) to spread info about the happenings, projects undertaken across the country. GINA programmes were a regular on the state owned TV stations. Again PPP was lambasted on maintaining state owned TV stations to broadcast their "propaganda".

Now lets see how the Granger govt acted when they took charge.

1. They renamed GINA to DPI(department of public info)
2. The maintained the govt TV stations and the national newspapers which the PM oversees.
3. In addition to having the DPI they made NEW regulations that ALL TV stations must provide the govt with a prime time slots to air DPI programmes.

A few nights ago, ALL channels were playing Govt programmes at the same time.

On the judicial front, after delaying the appointment of a new chief justice and chancellor, Granger appointed "acting" personnel.

A few months later, having a couple of decisions ruled against the govt by the chief justice...Granger is ready to replace her with the substantive chief justice.

Crime: Crime is rampant, last night there were multiple robberies and multiple carjackings. Massive amounts of money and resources are being injected into crime fighting but having no effect. WHY? The Granger administration is treating criminals with silk gloves, and there is no serious attempt to stamp out crime. Sad to say, because most of them are from his voting pool.

Do we see whats happening here?

I left out the fact that Granger unilaterally appointed a major organ in the elections process, the GECOM chairman and other old news.

I lived a few years(baby) under Burnham authoritarianism, but I never really knew what its like... NOW I am really starting to get the idea.

Unfortunately the people are left at the mercy of these folks. In a short 2 1/2 years, people's lives have been upturned. The sugar belt is decimated. The lives impacted for generations to come. And the bumbling tools promised the people the good life. But delivered the good LIE.

I do not have a positive view on Guysuco, but the govt could have handled it better. Selling it off(maybe factory by factory) to willing investors would have been a better move, however they are callous to their non-supporters.
