When you don’t have a father figure in a youth life and it is the mother alone, it is extra hard
But when you grow up in poverty ... Poverty is the outbreak of crime in Trinidad and Tobago.

These parents are at the bottom of the barrel in T&T , for the past 6 decades starting with Eric Williams. He just wanted their votes.
Put yourself in one of those kids position...your parents are unemployed, they rely on CEPEP and government assistance..pittance
