Leon Bailey says he’s taking a break from Reggae Boyz football
In reply to FanAttick
All the international ballers should take a break - JFF always up to some old tricks!
Southgate probably had a word
In reply to imusic
Southgate would be 5 years late. Having made his debut at U23 level for Jamaica in 2015 he took 4 years to commit to Jamaica. He had problems with the JFF then and continues to do so. These JFF people are so damn unprofessional Southgate need not worry as no top baller is going to be committed to this crap especially when they are young.

I thought they said John Wall was removed to help with the senior team. He was not at the press conference and I am not seeing him with the group in Texas. I suspect after this week Halgrim will resign from this shyte show.
In reply to nitro
It’s a circus bro…I dont think Wall will stick around. I suspect the clock is winding down on Hallgrimsson’s tenure….
If the JFF had just made his "father", President, and Coach of the team; and his "brother", the starting midfielder of the Reggae Boyz, all would be forgiven, or he would threaten to take his game and turn out for the England national team!
Plus, he and his relentlessly mediocre "brother", were a package deal so he would only acquiesce to represent lowly Jamaica only if his brother were also shoe- horned into the team
Bailey is used to playing with "good players" - lest we forget-unlike what Jamaica has to offer!
And at Aston Villa he would be allowed to party and break curfew -at will-without consequences because the pursuit of winning trumps everything!
The JFF is not without fault but no player is bigger than the team. They should call his and his ventriloquest's bluff one more time!

Bailey IS bigger than this current Jamaican team by a country mile….It is what it is…
A who dem come fi see? You think fans are buying tickets to go and watch the JFF, Mike Ricketts, Speid and Dennis Chung?
By the way, this is the first time I’m going to be cheering for my adopted country to put a proper pounding on the land of my birth..
Enough of the corruption
Really?
When Mikael Antonio, for example, first represented Jamaica, he had turned down a call- up by England and was also the reigning Player if The Month in the EPL.
Leon Bailey is NOT bigger than Jamaica's national football team. I am scratching my head trying to recall the last time he had an outstanding game for Jamaica, a la Demarai Gray, who only recently started to don the national colours
Jamaica never stopped playing football when Bailey and his "father " tried to stick up the national programme with their outrageous and self-serving demands.
As I did 4 years ago, I am volunteering my services to help them pack and go and represent England- for which he was NEVER ELIGIBLE- despite the Trumpian lies that were being spewed by the conman and hustling "father"

The Butler derangement syndrome is what is destroying Jamaica’s football. If only we had a few more “hustlers” like Butler who could hustle another Leon Bailey to Aston Villa and another Whisper to Chelsea….
When Butler said that Whisper would be going to Chelsea the haters said he was telling lies. When Butler said that Leon Bailey was being courted by some big clubs in Europe (including Ajax) people said that he was telling lies. Recently I saw a Dutch journalist confirming that Ajax wanted to sign Bailey and how disappointed they were when the move didn't happen…which proved that Butler was right again…
We need a few more hustlers..instead we are stuck with a cacophony of corrupt yes men riddled with conflicts of interest who have done nothing but push mediocre players into the National team so that they can eat a food….

The Problem is that the JFF, Butler and Leon are more interested in their own selfish personal interests....and are not acting in the interest of Jamaican Football.

Excellent points!!
The JFF has plenty of faults...but Bailey will learn the hard way. No player is bigger than the team.
In reply to Trex
You and Jacksprat have made some good points.
The pity tho is that divisiveness is the order of the day and that will continue to hurt the game.
It is not good that Bailey is not is in the team for the USA game but common sense they say is not
common.
A player must however toe lines for the betterment of the whole..
I remember when Brazilian Jorge Penna came on board in he 60s to change Jamaica's football and
put it on a high level. He had to deal with certain players and their ways but he never bow to any.
Being from a Professional set up and such the amateur level of Jamaica's football led to some difficult things at
the outset. But Penna with his assistant coach from Haiti Tassey meant business,
At the time, one Ken East of STGC Old Boys was the center forward and Star for Jamaica but having to work as the players all did
they all did,was tardy in reaching practice on time . After a few such occasions and warning from Penna,
he turned up late again and the conversation went something like this.
' Hi Mr East, Bye Mr East'.
He never played under Penna's regime. He did not play for Jamaica again either.
There was shock and consternation by the squad and a lot in the football fraternity at East's dismissal. But Jamaica found
replacements, one of whom was a Cornwall College DaCosta Cup CF, Billy Griffith , perhaps the best young player
in the country and who did well before he too fell to Penna's rules.
At the time players were sometimes housed at the
Stadium for a game and Billy was of one of those that broke curfew and was dismissed.
He too never played again.
So the more things change the more they remain the same.
The hope is that we have become more nuanced over the years into a new Century and that valuable players such as
Baily will not be lost to the Jamaica cause.
Wisdom should not be a stranger to the Football Administration in this age...hopefully.

WELL STATED!!

You are going to develop a bald spot!
The farce that Leon Bailey and his management (and fandom) is trying to impose on the national football is beyond the pale.
Bailey is a lackey for his management and his management is blindly loyal to him like a parent who sees no wrong in their child.
Bailey has failed to shine for Jamaica in a minimum of 80% of the games that he has played, in fact, on performance, if the head coach had steel, he would have not started Bailey in many games he has started in. And for his followers, who lend support akin to what the MAGA crowd bestows on their leader, don't tell me about his Aston Villa performances when I am talking about national representation.
Now to the two things he said bothers him:
1. No circuitous route when buying my ticket to travel.
If your management had the requisite nous, they would buy your ticket to your satisfaction then fight the JFF for your refund. That would solve the issue of you being tired when you get here. Put your loquacious management to work!
When Michael Antonio had to get back to West Ham in a hurry a private jet was arranged. That is management.
2. You request a single room.
Well, have your management book your own room in advance and absorb all cost or have the JFF refund you the shared room portion.
The JFF is wholly incompetent and self-serving, we know that, so circumvent them by being proactive and booking the room type and fare routing you desire.
You get suspended and since you have no marbles to take and go home you withdraw from future representation. You are now hoping the English players will follow suit. We shall see.
If Jamaica lose today and every game going forward standing on disciplining players who break curfew, then I will take the losses.
Meanwhile Yard leading 1-0 against di mighty USA - almost half time

Too Late!

Agree 100%
In reply to Chrissy
It is simple really, JFF = incompetent. Bailey and his team = disingenuous and spiteful.
In reply to JoeGrine
God dont like ugly. I was cheering until I got hoarse when my beloved USA buss up the net three times….
USA, USA, USA!!!!!
As a coach you have to be careful, you need to punish a player without punishing the team, a better alternative than not playing Bailey, would be to charge him match fees, but if you are not playing the players, you do not have that option. I would not be surprised if Jamaica does not qualify for 2026 world cup. I was in Guanacaste, Costa Rica last week and was impressed with the approach there.
In reply to camos
You are correct, that could be a punishment option, however, we don't know the full details of what has been transpiring and/or if there had been previous infractions that led to the "straw that broke the camel's back".
In reply to jacksprat
JFF bend the rules to accommodate Walter Boyd, who had more egregious behavior!
In reply to FanAttick
You well now my views on these eat a food administrators but some of these arrogant overrated players are no different.
In reply to Chrissy
I dont think Leon Bailey can be considered an “overrated player”… He is one of the best in the world in what he does. Currently the hottest winger in all of Europe….perhaps the best ever player in the history of Jamaica’s football..
In reply to Chrissy
For the record, the only Jamaican international players that are not overrated are:
Blake
Pinnock
D. Lowe
Leigh
Morrison
Gray
Antonio
I checked my list once, twice and went back and did it thrice. That's it.
In reply to JoeGrine
Here is what the experts are saying about Bailey
I listen to people who know football and cover it for a living ..not bad mind people who hate on successful people and just like to beat up dem gums…
In reply to FanAttick
Clearly you are "listening" as you are responding. What you are not doing is comprehending facts which portray your hero in a bad light, however, that is understandable when you are a worshipper of human beings. From your posts over the year, I gather you are an adult, so perhaps you should put away childish things - worshipping sporting heroes.
I will say this once more and end on that note: Leon Bailey has been a disaster in national colors. You and your "experts" can take a hike!
