debut: 2/15/09
4,361 runs
For the first 85 minutes of the game, the USA was outworked and outcoached, and then the coach did the unthinkable, he substituted Bobby Reid for Tavon Gray, who did more wrong than right in the time he was on.
COACH - if you are going to keep playing Cory Burke up high then you need to keep BDR on the field as that link to Burke or you are wasting Burke on the pitch, the USA can afford to lighten their midfield and bring more players forward.
For the first 85 minutes I finally saw (since the days of Schaefer) a Jamaican team outplay a top (USA/Mexico) CONCACAF team.
GRADES
Blake (8.5) - blameless for the goal and was his usual reliable self.
Lembikisa (8.5) - did a sterling job on Pulisic.
Bernard (8 - continues to cover well for Pinnock whenever he is inserted into the lineup.
Hector (7.5) - arguably his best game ever for Jamaica. A few miscues but he was solid.
Leigh (8.5) - I repeat, despite playing in a lower league, he is way better than Bell, especially offensively, and is one of CONCACAF's better left back.
Latibudierre (9) - he was a defensive marshall. His best game ever and co-man of the match for me.
D.Lowe (9) - spatial awareness in midfield was outstanding, it is just that when he gets to the spot you either cringe or close your eyes. My co-man of the match, he commands the respect of the opposition.
Decordova-Reid (8.5) - incredible work rate and threatening going forward.
Palmer (4.5) - can anyone confirm if Ravel Morrison is now with a club?
J. Lowe (6) - good work rate, helped in defense.
Cephas (5.5) - you have got to take your 1on1 opportunities. He has talent and should be retained in the squad even when the top players are back.
