Guyneez! Help me...

Why isnt the clock on Stabroek Market working????? Isnt that one of Guyana's most iconic building? One of Guyana's wonders? Isnt it for the people of Guyana & for tourists to be in awe as they look at that majestic building, but, with deep consternation as the clock is non-functional??

With the oil money coming they will install a new clock and paint the building

All I know that in Singapore or Rwanda...it would be fixed in no time as in tea & water!

Here's what I wish for...that either Exxon, His Majesty's govt or the Dutch to embarasssssssss the political parties of Guyana by repairing that clock! To me, it would be a massive jook to their ribs. Full facting stop .

Why would anyone repair a clock when the whole building needs to be razed and rebuilt!!!

Five injured as roof of dilapidated market collapses

The Guyana government says it intends to outline a “comprehensive plan of action” later on Wednesday in response to the collapse of the Stabroek Market Wharf earlier, resulting in at least five being people taken to hospital with injuries.

President Dr Irfaan Ali headed a team of government ministers, including Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn and Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar, that toured the area in the heart of the capital.Ali later informed vendors and other stakeholders that the government would collaborate with the Mayor and City Council to chart a course forward.

A government statement issued afterwards said, “A comprehensive plan of action will be issued no later than 16:30 hrs (local time), outlining the steps to be taken in response to the situation”.

Indar said not only were persons vending in the wooden structures but some were actually living there.
