Fit-again Tyndall named as replacement for injured Nandu as Harpy Eagles set out for Jamaica

Fast-bowler Sylus Tyndall earns his maiden Guyana Harpy Eagles 4-Day team call up as action in the ongoing West Indies 4-Day Championship continue against the Jamaica Scorpions in the upcoming round which bowls off Wednesday April 10.

A former U19 national player, Tyndall who made a full recovery following a chronic ankle injury which has been bothering him over the last 12 months, will take Nandu’s spot in the team after the opening batsman was recently ruled out due to a shoulder injury.

Nandu had looked solid throughout the competition despite not posting a big score, but an injury which he picked up in the previous round, was reaggravated during a training session this week; further leading to his omission as he will. Ow have to work his way back to health.

Harpy Eagles will play the Scorpions this coming Wednesday April 10 at the legendary Sabina Park Ground, Kingston Jamaica.

Guyana Harpy Eagles 4-Day team - Tevin Imlach (Captain), Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Sylus Tyndall , Kevlon Anderson (Vice Captain), Raymond Perez, Kemol Savory, Kevin Sinclair, Ronaldo Alimohamed, Gudakesh Motie, Veerasammy Permaul, Isai Thorne, Nial Smith and Akshaya Persaud.

Precedent was set by replacing Motie with Chalres for WC qualifiers. Any number can play now. Is this the guy that was said to be as good as Shamar?

So is Perez an opening batter? However, Guyana have a good chance to win the tournament, two of the weakest teams they will be playing

Perez and Tage will be the openers. They already got the friends and family pick (Akshaya) as a backup batsman so I don't think they need another batsman in the squad.

Tyndall will most likely be on the bench... Don't think they will play him ahead of Ali Mohammed.

Most likely XI

1. Perez
2. Tage
3. Anderson
4. Imlach
5. Savory
6. Sinclair
7. Ali Mohammed
8. Permaul
9. Motie
10. Thorne
11. Smith

GCB needs to sort out their issues with Keemo Paul... He's not practicing or around the national squad... Saw him doing some work with Rayon Griffith de other day.

Perez was a former WI U19 opener... He opened the batting for Guyana throughout his youth career, DCC at the club level and Demerara at the senior inter-county level.

Glad to see another fast bowling camp with Sir Curtly… let’s hope another one or two standouts emerge.
