He will fail in that position because he hasn't practiced to bat there. His choice was to be a finisher at the end where there is no pressure but to throw the bat around. To take him to the world cup, and place him in a such a pivotal position at the top would be shortsighted and irresponsible. He may not even wish to bat in that position, because he would be exposed, and that is not good for his franchise outlook.

He cannot make the first 11. In IPL, his role is to voop a few balls towards the end. For WI we have enough players who can do it better.

I feel, if not that, he can't make the team, I don't feel opening in t20 is a I big deal, he should relish the opportunity to open Batting, with the field in, it gives WI the chance to set a rapid pace from the begining, Brandon King is not good enough, too slow

We should examine King’s record in run chases. I suspect it will not be good. He is a middle order batsman who is being forced to open to keep a place on the team.

King has been opening in t20 cricket since 2019.

There are lots of batters who bat in the middle order in red ball cricket and odi who open in t20. I don't view opening in t20 as a specialist position. I don't agree that king is being forced to open to keep his place.

Sammy or CWI don't want Hety.....it would be a near miracle if Hety becomes a member of WT-20.... Although Sammy has said 2 slots still up for grab...

I don't see how Hety can ft into the first 11, maybe in the squad to cover for a similar first choice batter injury.

His IPL role is limited and it doesn't prepare him for batting for WI. In CPL, he was pretty ordinary last season when his role was also unlike his IPL voop 6 balls at the end of the innings.
