I saw this west indies first class cricket stats book on Amazon for serious money. I just casually shown my wife this book and thought nothing of it. She surprised me on my birthday with a copy of it. It's called Shell Sheild Cricket 1966-1987. Obviously covering the period before the tournament was sponsored by other companies.
What I noticed that even as the Combined Islands then split into the Lewards islands Mr IVA Richards shown no dominance of no time at all. I do remember him back in my younger days on my radio walking to the wicket with his representation going in front of him and doing very little so correct me if I'm wrong. Did he or not bully the Regional Scene?

From my limited recollection Richards was not a regional bully before he got into the WI team, he had a few fifties and very few centuries, he was selected on potential.

He was young but you could see where he was heading, like a young Sobers.
Sometimes you have to let a "Colt" run.

Looking at the data, in his first year 71/72, 8 matches 4 50s, his worst year was 1974, his debut county season, and the rest after that year is in the history books.
Cricket archive is the resource to get info, it gives you data of every regional series and each player's data, regional and international.

When Viv debut for the WI wasn't his FC average thirty or below? Remember had M.L.C. Foster not refused the pick to India and promptly retired (many say becuase he thought he should've been Cappo not t Lloyd) Viv would've debut later. Fos' retirement is the 'greatest retirement' in WI cricket

Twenty years/seasons is plenty bruh. Did they have home and away fixtures in the latter stages? Research it DJ.
