So many youngsters have graduated and are ready to join the Pride.

WI Academy closing on what would be a memorable victory...require just 16 runs now to beat Barbados...Bowen-Tuckett still there on 21, Nedd on 14...

It's over, WI Academy secure their third victory of the season with a three wicket win over Barbados. A few dropped catches late on but the Academy boys held their nerve, especially the calm and composed keeper-batsman Carlon Bowen-Tuckett who played another fine innings to remain not out at the end on 27.

Guyana are champions again.

Bowen-Tuckett has impressed me all season. Really happy to see his development. A team for him, I think, as well as the Irish tour

Guess you got to see there were quality youngsters who needed to be given the chance to play.

Dude, my motto is always about consistency, everyone brings a level of talent to the game, and you select players from performances.
Where would grade Kevin and Drakes the two youngest players on the team, in season performance?
Shaquille Cumberbatch at 29 years and cannot bat, what was his role?
Reifer and Jordan are very similar, and I just don't think Jair would have made any 1st division team, 25 years ago.
There are reasons why Barbados is not producing world-class elite batsmen.

Of Kevin and Drakes, I would say that they disappointed in that they appear to be very talented but could not achieve the constistency of a Louis or a Jangoo. Wickham for sure makes the A team for me. Drakes has to wheel and come back next year

I agree with Drakes, he has shown promise but needs to show a bit more. However, for me, Wickham should go to England. He only really failed once in the entire championship season, had several starts (a few raw deals with umpires!) and in his last 10/11 innings, has two centuries and two fifties. He looks good at the crease, nice and calm, composed...certainly a player that has plenty of potential to develop into a quality international level middle order batsman. In the future, given time, I could imagine a middle order with players such as Imlach, Carty, Athanaze, Sinclair, Wickham...but as ever, only time will tell!

I think that it will be difficult for Wickham to make the middle order for England so I have him in my A team squad. He still needs to iron out that problem of falling in the 30s to loose shots. I hope that those names will be our middle order in the near future as Nos 2 to 6 (Imlach perhaps opening with Kraigg) to be followed by Silva at #7. I think that Athanaze made a tactical error in not bowling himself more. If he could have picked up a couple wickets, it would have raised his stocks on the basis that he and Sinclair could share the off spinning duties in the XI and he could have the Joe Root role.
