Lack of motivation by players, refusal to select young cricketers, poor team selection, lack of management of high school cricketers developing into professional cricketers, apathy by JCA and CWI regarding cricket as a sport in Jamaica. JCA may need to locate funding, to provide international cricket tours for young talented Jamaican players, providing them with experience, exposure and confidence in their cricketing skills.

I do not think young Jamaican have much interest in cricket, they seem to gravitate to more fast pace spots, but I will say this, it is in the interest of all stake holders of WI cricket to help revive JC, WI cricket can never reach it's full potential if JC cricket continues on this path

Administration and politcs screwed a lot of it up. That snowballed to a lack of interest going down to the grassroots level.
Athletics and football were alread competing for the attention there, and as the investment and interest in cricket waned, people turned to those.
about 2 years ago i had a nice gyaff with couple old heads at a corner shop in Ochi and they echoed what bird said above
"WI cricket can never reach it's full potential if JC cricket continues on this path"
