This game should end sometime today. I understand the pitch is dodgy with uneven bounce.

One player got out LBW to the penultimate ball of the day with the ball virtually rolling along the ground and hitting him in the ankle, while he was still in his back lift!

Manchester High will need a Brian Lara & Carl Hooper in their lineup to negotiate the guile of Spin Twins -Tamarie Redwood and his partner in crime-the baby-faced assassin DeMarco Scott! big grin

The 2024 Spalding Cup will return to 137 Mountain View Avenue to keep company with the 2024 Grace Shield Trophy and the 2024 Urban T20 Championship as the Excelsior Eagles continue to soar Yet Higher!big grinbig grin

Congrats bro - now the same two teams play the T20 finals.

But seriously something is really wrong when the school boy cricket matches have longer ganes with more days scheduled than the club teams.
The election tomorrow will be very interesting

Excelsior won by 185 runs

Details

The Mountain View-based Excelsior had resumed this morning on 82 for four and progressed steadily to 219 for seven at lunch before their second innings was wrapped up for 255 shortly after the resumption.

In their second innings, Manchester, led by Pajay Nelson, who scored 69, put up a better fight but constantly lost wickets that prevented a formidable challenge. Excelsior’s captain Michael Clarke was their main destroyer with four wickets for 72 runs, supported by Demarco Scott, who took three for 50.

Big up yuh bad self Sprattylol

Thanks Chrissy.

This team should be competitive for at least the next 2 years. It will lose only 3 players from this squad but gain a significant national age-group player as a Sixth Form transfer next season.

The Eagles Will Continue To Soar Yet Higher!

I understand that the curator at Melbourne is an Excelsior old boy hence he prepared a dust bowl for the Manchester team to play on…big grin It is alleged that the 2 umpires are also Excelsior past students

Is that why medium pacer Michael Clarke was among the leading wicket takers in the match?big grinbig grin

Wait until we unleash the Spin Twins DeMarco Scott and Tamarie Redwood on you in the T20 final!
