Sri Lanka forsakes Tests for ODIs in Caribbean

Sri Lanka Cricket has once again foregone Test matches to accommodate its players playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to the Future Tours Program (FTP) Sri Lanka were due to tour West Indies in April 2013 and play a series of two Tests, 3 ODIs and 2 Twenty20Is.

But following a request from the West Indies Cricket Board that the series would clash with the sixth edition of IPL in April 2013 and the non-availability of its players, SLC which also has players involved in the IPL has agreed to forego the two Tests and instead play a one-day tri-series.

The series which will be held from June 13-25 would also involve India as the third team,
Sri Lanka is due to travel to West Indies at the end of the ICC Champions trophy in England.

Under 19 World Cup, Windies unbeaten to top group C

West Indies commanded top spot in Group C of the Under-19 World Cup, with another collective bowling performance setting up their third victory in three matches. Their fast bowlers struck early and there was no easing of pressure from the spinners either, as Zimbabwe were limited to a below-par total on a small ground at Endeavour Park

The West Indian chase, however, did not begin smoothly - they lost two wickets in the third over - but Kraigg Brathwaite stayed firm at his end to see the chase through. The only Test batsman in the tournament, Brathwaite was undefeated on 70 when the target was achieved in the 36th over. West Indies will now face New Zealand in the quarter-finals.
