That would be up to the selectors.

The point is that Cornwall EARNED his selection in the team, whenever the selectors chose to play him.

There is no need for two off-spinners in the West Indies team.

Yours truly.
There is nothing wrong with two off break bowlers in Asia, with one having some variety, but see absolutely little difference in the bowling.
It is like picking Permaul, Miller or warrican.
Now if Shillingford or Narine can bowl, they could be selected together, because of what in their arsenal.

He brought Guts to the team, lots of it.

By the way OBESITY is an underlying condition. They exposed the young man to the threat of Covid.

Yours truly.

The selectors wanted both Chase and Cornwall in the third Test. Looks like they chose to ignore you - just like that. smile

This is my first response to the thread.
I was a big supporter of him, until I watched both of them together in the third test.
Only one of them should be in any X1.

I also thought he should have been selected for the first test, after seeing them bowled together, my belief is only one them should be selected, in the playing X1.

As a West Indian I must say that I was disappointed with the selection of Cornwall for the final test. However Small is not a former England cricketer and therefore he should have criticized his English selectors for not playing Broad in the first test and let us West Indians take care of our problem. He should have told Archer that he will never be celebrated as an Englishman

What did he bring to the table........A plate, knife and fork.Player looking like that in 2020 is beyond shameful....Before the sensitive folks jump on me.This just shows the lack of discipline...whichever way you slice and dice it..Unless there is a serious medical condition...

I am not saying we should include Gayle.
I am saying the same arguments about out-fielding weakness, lesser spin option and fading prowess with the bat MUST apply to Cornwall equally.

A few months ago both Hetmyer and Lewis failed a fitness test for the ODI series in India, is that same test held for Test cricket selection and is Cornwall exempt from taking it?

Did not want to get into the Monday morning quarterbacking on Cornwall but could not let the following pass:

RCornwall v CHGayle (now) fielding at slip- Overwhelmingly Gayle

I know he dropped a catch in the match but Cornwall is an exceptional slip fielder. Gayle in his old age has been dropping nuff.

RC v CHG bowling spin- marginally Cornwall

This comment is particularly delusional, confirming that Gayle is more myth than substance in some people's minds.

=== is to question the use of the domestic competition as the basis for WI selection

V.Permaul, K.Powell ignored in spite of their domestic performance.

C.Holder not selected for the 3rd test although everyone knew Gabriel was spent. I am of the opinion that this young man would have created some problems for the English batsmen.

Playing people off reputation is not going to cut it anymore. I am not convinced the grunter can live up to his reputation anymore.

Mr.Jimmy Adams must read the riot act to certain people including the Chief Selector.

Reifer instead of Cornwall for Joseph
Chemar Holder for Gabriel.
Bonner for Hope
DaSilva for Campbell

But then that would have been an all Bajan attack!
