Days after West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard’s blistering innings helped Trinbago Knight Riders snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat in a CPL 2020 encounter against Barbados Tridents, legendary England cricketer David Gower termed him one of the best T20 players but said he is not good enough to play Test cricket.

“Kieron Pollard is one of the world’s best T20 players but he knows as well as I do that he cannot play test cricket, he isn’t good enough to play test cricket.” Gower said in conversation on SportsTiger’s show “Off-the-Field”.

Pollard who is a stalwart for the West Indies in limited-overs cricket and one of most desired cricketers for franchises in T20 leagues across the globe, has never played Test cricket.

For a long time I felt Pollard could not bat very much, but on times he has shocked me on occasions (especially t -20). It would not surprise that he that he would he would play a few good test innings.

Is this ah joke? Pollard a stalwart for WI in limited overs cricket? lol

Same Pollard who averaging around 26-27 with the bat in ODIs? After 100+ matches? lol

Pollard is good in t20s.. that's it.

Next we might see an article saying Sammy is the greatest captain to ever play for WI lol

i never heard you when the CWI gave debuts to chandrika, carlos brathwaite, etc.......pollard could never do worse than them. Secondly, David Gower is the same dude who once equated the rebel tours to racist south africa to the packer guys. his opinions are ridiculous

First thing.. according to yuh handle yuh joined this forum in 2017.. Chandrika mek his debut since 2015.. how de rass yuh gonna know if I condemn his selection or not?

Wuh really yall does get from creating all these handles?

Anyways enough of that.. everybody on this mb condemn that Chandrika selection.. heck even Chandrika himself probably did.

Now back to the Pollard issue.. any of the crap yuh posted above change the fact that Pollard is only decent in club t20s and a complete failure in any other cricket? lol

Look Chase getting to play every test series and batting in the top 5 for the past 3 year or more.. in that 3 years he played 22 test matches.. batted 40 times and yet his average is 26.
...anthonyp

How do the above stack up to Polly , note where he bats when runs are needed.
Then, he hasn't been given a chance at Test Cricket, so comments are not valid.

What does that have to do with Pollard failure in ODIs and t20Is for WI?

All of my posts on this thread is in relation to the journalist calling him ah "stalwart for West Indies in limited overs cricket".. based on his stats yuh think he is? lol

Man got Sammy like stats and they calling him a stalwart.. allyuh Trinis would try to defend any crap once is yuh countryman lol

Ah retarded islander say fact and we must believe it? Was a Staurt Williams a success? Elquemedo Willett? Keith sagagirl Athurton . . All failures . . . At least Pollard did not fail in t20 as so many islanders have failed in test cricket

What a silly question? If you are saying Pollard is bigger than test cricket, where would you put Lara, Sobers, Bradman, Headley, Richards etc. I get the feeling you are an ice hockey fan. Could you please familiarize yourself with the game of cricket before you flap off your mouth! Maybe you can watch a few games on Willow and have a family member explain the game to you, then maybe you can join in a conversation about cricket.

Like it or not Gower is correct. Pollard is no test batsman. Maybe he can still adapt if he wished.

Having said that I am happy Pollard has been able to make substantial money from T20 and has established himself as one of the most devastating batsmen to play this version of the game.

What shit. Polard had to come through the same systems as the Bravos and Lara - He did well then
