then why take him to SA to warm the bench when he could have played a crucial first class match for his team here. it seems pretty obvious to me that the selection policy is to go for experience so after Brooks would be Chase and Carty was never going to get a match. A shortage of FC cricket and yet you waste one of your better players in this way.

In reply to imusic... before we do (Carty), maybe we need to look at what Brooks did to be selected. Has Carty done the same or better? Reason being if a players has not done better than Brooks at the FC level then he should not be selected as we now know that players at that level will not make it at the higher level. This may have the selection list empty, hence we stay with these bunch of "underachievers" and focus on the A team candidates and work on getting their average above Brooks'?
