In reply to anthonyp Told alyuh donkey years ago...when he gets frustrated - he pelts! Story done as granny of Essequibo County/River/Islands would say.
In reply to BeatDball
I noticed when he was hit for a couple 4s by Mohammed hw looked a bit upset and sent one down to Mohammed which hit Mohammed on the gloves in an attempt to avoid getting hit in the face, slow replay showed it was a blatant pelt.He continued to send down some suspicious ones when TT was just putting up a lil fight. It's time that cricket officials start taking notice of our young players to sort any problems from young,we are a cricket playing nation for over 100 years, time to be serious.
In reply to anthonyp
Tell docta crab, he go say IPL crab does pelt too
In reply to anthonyp
Jamaica should get the points from the Muddie game
This is beyond ridiculous..even the blind could see that Beaton was pelting
this was especially pronounced when he threw the short pitched balls
.
Every batter who fell victim to his pelting should file a complaint
Still the greatest ever according to the self-anointed Guyana aficionados!
That is too bad, but deserved.
In reply to FanAttick
You protesteth too much.Never heard this when your people were hounded out of the game.Selective outrage is cynical and disingenuous.
The reality is that I commented at the beginning of the year about Beaton's action not being clean. but people did not care until he played against their team.

In reply to Dukes
not true Dukes. i watched Beaton when he was played his first match and he was not pelting (at least when i watched). the last match he did tho; his action looked v ragged especially the quicker ball. maybe with the amount of work he was doing he returned to previous action. muscle memory under stress perhaps?
In reply to Dukes
Well at least nobody turned a blind eye on Beaton at the FC level like they did to Jermaine Lawson !
In reply to sudden
Beaton was pelting from the beginning of this tournament and I said so.
On a WhatsApp chat room with many former first class cricketers it was a topic of conversation and most of them felt the same way.
In reply to Dukes
so why was he reported in this particular match?
Regional selectors should be fined for selecting pelters.
Sarwan should know better.
It was clear he was pelting
In reply to sudden
The whispering campaign got loud enough that it could no longer be ignored.
Better late than never.
Lemme say this. Sunil Narine has an action that I consider outside the laws of the game.
Many top officials in the game in the Caribbean agree with me but they are unwilling to do anything about it and feel that if he is good enough to play franchise cricket around the world, then he is good enough to play franchise cricket at home.Narine is smart enough to know it is too big a risk to attempt to play non-franchise cricket that is controlled by the ICC.
The whole situation is farcical.

Was it the great Dayle Steyn with the SOMETIMES mysterious wrist action?
In reply to mikelegend
wrist action different tho...a bent elbow is not the same
Walsh had a whippy wrist and perhaps the best of it now is Shaheen Shah Afridi
from Christmas eve 2017
In reply to Dukes
Once you see Beaton picking up wickets check his action. If he bowls within the limit, he is gentle medium and ineffective.
Was hoping to see Shamar Joseph in the final XI... With Beaton out I will get my wish... He is the ideal replacement for Keemo.
In reply to VIX
U R STILL LYING
NAME THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!
In reply to doosra
Lot of peeps mix up wrist with elbow... Could recall seeing posters calling out Shaheen for pelting because of his whippy wrist...
Hyperextension is another...
In reply to Dukes
i have archive info going back 7 years at least showing gt people calling out Beaton...waiting on VIX

In reply to Narper
Nah, that's cuz he was cheap!!
In reply to Narper
Yea TKR wanted some of that smoke
In reply to Dukes
In reply to VIX
what does that prove?
In reply to VIX
In reply to sudden
for you unfortunately, it proves cockroach nuh business inna fowl fight
In reply to VIX
in other words, you have no proof and are trying to cover it by pure BS and pretend bravado
PS. Dukes is my client
In reply to VIX
He is a raw pelter and what is more, he cant make the IPL
In reply to Dukes
Yet you said nothing
Puncheon crab support him too?
In reply to Barry
Funny thread this
If Bumrah and previously Murali were cleared why discriminate against a darker shade of pigment? Not fair to target our own.
Once a pelter always a pelter. It is near impossible to overturn years of pelting muscle memory in a short space of time especially when the fall back position under pressure is flexing the elbow
In reply to imusic
Yuh think Dukes will ever apologise for besmirching my good name?
Or HIS as a self-proclaimed aficionado?
In reply to Atl_View
Narine not your own? Or your ancestors come here on spaceships like Alien21
In reply to Dukes
Brother, I loved you. Now not so much.
In reply to VIX
I don't know how casual TV observers can be certain about a bowler pelting when the experts need to use specialised equipment and slow motion videos to make that call. I guess I should be happy that we have so many gifted observers in the WI.
What I DO KNOW is that there is NOTHING a bowler can do with his WRIST which will infringe any law in the game of cricket.
In reply to Headley
With replays slo mos and all dat it's probably easier to raise suspicion. In the Beaton case the umps sent footage to an ICC accredited institution in England and got word that the action is not...so said Butts
Shaun Pollock the other day was raining a question about some of Reifer's deliveries...2nd t20 i think
In reply to Atl_View
The definition of pelting by the ICC is if your bowling arm straightens by 15 or more degrees. That is a MAN-MADE,ARBITRARY cut off point. How did they arrive at that number?
They looked at numerous bowlers in test cricket and found only 2 bowlers whose arm did not straighten at all.I remember one of those two was Ronnie Sarwan and his gentle leg breaks.
They arrived at 15 degrees because with that number very few people would get into trouble if that was the cut off point.
All this was done to pacify the Sri Lankans who were adamant about Murali and his ability to continue to wreak havoc in test cricket.
Now with that background information, you guys can continue talking but hopefully from a better informed perspective.
In reply to doosra
Ok. So it seems Beaton must have been under suspicion for weeks if not months since the investigation takes some time. Thanks.
If Pollock raised the suspicion I hope the WI has quietly launched an investigation.
In reply to Headley
Reifer's action for that slower short ball was iffy imho and then Pollock called it...his usual action is fine
In reply to Headley
Beaton has pelting history....this is his 3rd time
suspended in the past
In reply to Headley
In reply to sudden
Would you agree with Dukes about Beaton's raw talent?
In reply to nick2020
More like Raw sh!t
Maybe he was not pelting in 2014 .....
In reply to Narper
He Repran youve been caught with your buckta down and have been exposed!!! Based on your previous logic shouldnt we be protecting Beaton like the Tits protect Narine???
Narine brings in revenue from the IPL, Beaton does not.
In reply to doosra
In reply to mikelegend
Agree., What about Bhumrah????
In reply to Onionman0
Bhumrah TO ME is a little different. His bowling action is initially a straight arm, followed by a rubber elbow at the point of delivery. He does it almost EVERY ball.
In reply to mikelegend
Shoib Akhtar was also a big chucker never called...like Harbajan....
In reply to Onionman0
Proven hyperextension
In reply to Kay
In reply to VIX
How you know he didn't pelt?
Wait he was like Burmah?
