All of this would have been avoided , but ignored on this site
Palestine was among former Ottoman territories placed under UK administration by the League of Nations in 1922.
Before 1948, Palestine was home to a diverse population of Arabs, Jews, and Christians, as all groups had religious ties to the area, especially the city of Jerusalem.
The Oslo Accords were supposed to bring about Palestinian self-determination, in the form of a Palestinian state alongside Israel.
This would mean that Israel, which was formed on the land of historic Palestine in 1948 in an event Palestinians know as the Nakba, would accept Palestinian claims to national sovereignty.
Now lets look at what is happening today in Israel?
The Palestinian Arabs refused to recognize this arrangement, which they regarded as favorable to the Jews and unfair to the Arab population that would remain in Jewish territory under the partition.
When looking at other Mediterranean populations, it becomes clear that Palestinians share a close genetic connection with Jews and other Middle Eastern populations. This includes Turks (Anatolians), Lebanese, Egyptians, Armenians, and Iranians.
Let's think of how many lives such an agreement would have saved. sigh
Sadly, Israel would not give up any conquered lands today , so what solution remains?
More killing and tears
