He could have replaced Powell or Rutherford, the two played solely as batsmen.
Is Hetty a better T20 player than the two?
The IPL think so.

BCL understands cricket, you seem to rely on hype and not the format.
The top T20 franchise in the world has a limited amount of West Indies cricketers in the starting X1, can you tell me which X1 Rutherford is in?

I know you like to dis Hetty on a daily basis, but let me ask you this. Did Pooran make any meaningful runs against the Premier teams in this World Cup?? The match against Afghanistan Windies had already qualified for the Super 8.

every player who has managed to have a conversation with lara says the same thing, which is why so many players come and have come to him for advice: bravo(s), kohli, kane williamson, shiv and sarwan, usman khawaja, spiceman, adrian bharath, shai hope....list goes on. And one thing that separates lara and tendulkar from the 70s and 80s cricketers is that they are very generous with their knowledge. They don't pelt boulders from the turnstiles and then not help you.

BCL reminds me of MJ, who would not go on the court without Dennis Rodman.
The two understood what the individual brought to the team.

As for Pooran. Top 5 run scorer in the tournament. Nearly double the output of WI 2nd highest run scorer in the tournament.

Stop mentioning Chase name with captaincy.
Before this tournament, Hope was VC
Scammy picked his homey as VC.
A homey, who like him does not merit his place in the 11 (every game).
What did Hope do to lose the VC poistion?
What did Aljo did to merit his elevation?
Even Aljo as test Vc is a joke.
I prefer a youth like Athanaze as Vc for tests.
This obsession with Aljo is a joke.
The man has been playing for donkey's years and cannot bowl three ball an over in the same vicinity.
Like Tino Best, fast and foolish.

You renewed my respect for you as a poster.
BC Lara sat on the last tribunal to review WI cricket and advocated for Hetmyer (amongst others) to be kept in regional cricket. And that after the "missed flight" fiasco! Too many of us leave our right-thinking selves at the door when we get in here to "discuss" the cricket.

What if we listened to Lara and Hetty made runs against bowlers who he spent months facing in the nets & matches in franchise cricket before would WI really need Chase’s bowling???
Food for thought ehhh lol
