After a brief illness, we didn't think she would die like that, was never bed ridden, just weak, I am devastated friends, she was 73 .

Thank you very much all, I know why I shared this with you all, I really needed as much support as i could get. My mom and I were very close.

She literally died in my arms yesterday in her bedroom not too long after returning her home from 6 days at hospital. We noticed she started going, and we admisntered CPR and the ambulance came in 5 mins and took over but she didn't respond, she was revived after being rushed to hospital, by very professional medical staff after 40 mins, but it was just too much for her.

She passed this morning at 7am. We are now making necessary arrangements for mom to get the best possible send off available.

A combination of a cardiomyopathy from past covid and a bad virus that her heart couldn't cope with over the last week or so, It simply stopped .

I am sure your mother was an incredible person, and her kindness and warmth will always be remembered by you and family.

I am deeply aware of some of the emotions you are going through now. Last year was such a time for me when I had to give eulogies within a matter of months for my eldest brother and his eldest son.

Time heals, but the memories of your mother will live on forever.

The funeral is next week Wednesday, in the meantime we reflect on our lives and take comfort from memories of our great times with mom, grandmom and great garandmom over the years .

Before we close off this thread I would like to share some pics of my mom over the years .

Younger days

Always looking out for and tried to elevate her family from very young, she actually arranged this portrait day at 19 y.o. she was the eldest ..and had many other younger siblings/half siblings and she helped all..

With her favorite aunt who supported her while other family disowned and castigated her for deciding to be with my older african dad..

before heading to airport in T&T for that trip..
