1. Warrican - I have never seen him captain a team so I cannot comment.
2. Campbell - has been an astute captain for Jamaica, excellent field settings and bowler usage.
3. Greaves - see Warrican.

You mentioned 3 captaincy options but intentionally did not mention the two who have captained at Regional level: Da Silva and Imlach. Can you explain why?

Reading is key, unless (as in this instance) you have already assumed or credited me with a narrative you wish to, that is I am satisfied with Campbell. Did you not see me post:

That said, it will not matter who gets the job, this thing rots from the head.

I am not advocating for anyone, I simply responded to a post.

Also, what makes de likes of Warrican, Campbell, Greaves etc. good captains?

You will note (can you) there were 3 names listed prior to the "etc" in Anthony P's post. I chose to give my take on those three. You just chat for chat sake absent.......reason.

Bro, it takes a team to win a championship, regardless of how astute the captain is!

I would vote for Campbell; he knows about persecutions, trials, and tribulations, works well under pressure, and is a good student of the game!

My second vote would be for Da Silva. He has shown leadership qualities in the games he has captained thus far!

No love for the young captain with two regional championships under his belt already? Guess he doesn't have any leadership qualities, luck was the reason he won them.

If they looking to pick a captain with the future in mind then clearly the choice should be between DaSilva and Imlach.

Dasilva and Campbell are the only two qualified as WI Captain, if they are considering either Warrican or Greaves, then they might as well just give the captaincy back to Sammy. big grinbig grin

Why are DaSilva and Campbell the only ones qualified to be WI captain? What makes them so special?

Why are the others not qualified?

How many championships does DaSilva and Campbell have?

Faz seh its a bundle of nonsense they doing.. some of de names on the list shouldn't even be in the conversation for captain of a WI team.

De man wanna know how de likes of Campbell, Warrican and Greaves reach on de list.

According to him the choice should be between DaSilva and Imlach.

Some here is trying to hype Campbell by using words like 'astute' but at the same time using the concept of cricket as a team sport to deflect failure in the future. All of the mentioned candidates for captaincy face the problem of a young inexperience weak team.

That is exactly what I have been writing about for the last five years. Cricket is the only team sport that relies on the captain.

Instead of the tripe you are writing why don't you do your own breakdown of those listed as potential captain? It would make for better reading, especially given your penchant for misinterpreting what others write, than you yapping away at the opinion of others. Surely you must have an opinion on the list rather than surfacing to criticize others.

Let me say this PLAINLY for you:

1. Campbell has been very good at bowler usage and field settings.
2. I cannot comment fairly on the others as I have not zeroed in on their captaincy.
3. Try your best, assuming you have the ability to, to see this as simply an opinion on one who I have watched.
4. It does not matter who is the next captain, Cricket WI rots at the head.

Where in stipulations 1-4 do you see a particular player being hyped? Daftness in abundance.
