Reading into this decision. Says alot about how and who is leading the way for WI at the International stage.
What's the expectation of every young cricketer aspiring to play for WI? They will never get to see a Coach or member of staff that they actually worked with at WI U19, WIA or Academy when they get to the highest level? What does the regional coaches have to look forward to? Working tirelessly for no reward of a stint at the next level unless you in the Windward clique?
I expect more player resignations while the dinosaurs and the Windward clique travel the world unaccountable to no-one!

Well, it’s a win win for everyone involved.
Clear decision for those that wanted it
No picking and choosing
Extra space for Chase
No mercenary showing up for tournaments
The fewer world class players involved the better for the maximum leader

Thank you for what? Freakin Primadonna! Good riddance!
CWI has opened the door and some would say far too accommodating with these Mercenaries.
Adios! Take Hetmeyer with you!
No one Player is bigger than the game!

Let’s not be confused, this decision has nothing to do with the current Board, who is the coach etc etc. This is a decision made by a man who does not need West Indies Cricket and in fact never has. He was the birth of what many a coach and cricketer aspired to be be part of a decade ago. A freelance gun for hire in the wild Wild West.
The problem is, a decade on, the leagues no longer seek after West Indians as their poster boys/gun slingers and there is currently a rebirth in international cricket.
Pooran has come, now has has gone and nothing has changed in any way shape or form except a whole generation of West Indian cricketers will still be lost aimlessly chasing the wind, or is it, whirlwind? I’d guess that despite the brave heart utterances this means nothing, and for me, pretty much the same. We however live in a time where the size of a wallet and the need to be relevant by association will say otherwise.

"Most talented" by what measure?
Or is that just your opinion - if it is, no problem, we all have one and it is our right to express it!

Would this be a retirement till next World Cup? A Pakman or Afghan type retirement
Or till SAMMY goes?

He has paid lip service to playing Test cricket in the past, but I never got the impression he was serious.

Agree no one player is bigger than the game.
But Pooran at least he ain't do like the others who say theu hear with Wai cricket then they only giving a lock and a promise, at least you know not to look forward to him no more. Ans he has represented the team well, the facts are there. Sometimes you no got to take it so personal like this is bigger than life itself.

Neither have I, in respect to hime playing Test cricket. A lot of these guys just say things to pacify those making noise.
I think this is nothing more than him wanting to maximize his outing as much as possible. Like maybe he figure he can play 5 tournaments a year and make more money than playing International Crixket. What WI now has to do ia fill his spot. Oh they already did that.
No one player bigger than the game. Both he ans WI Cricket gonna be aight.

One season alone in the IPL and he earns more than a player who is on a 10 year CWI contract.
Major leagues that he will play in... well already playing:
1. IPL
2. CPL
3. ILT
4. MLC
5. Dubai T10
