Rabada to Mitchell Starc, no run, dropped by Verreynne. Length delivery outside off, Mitchell Starc gets forward to drive, the thick outside-edge just about carries to Verreynne on the dive to his left, he can't get the gloves under it and scoop it up, put in the effort but was not good enough, luck with Australia at the moment

Given out LBW. Carey reviews.

38.2
Rabada to Carey, out Lbw!! What a big wicket that is for South Africa and look at their celebrations. Means so much to them. Cummins meanwhile watching on from the dressing room sips on a drink. This is a big nipbacker, comes back in down the slope, Carey flicks and misses, impact is in-line, rapped on the pads and hit on the kneeroll. The umpire's call on hitting works in South Africa's favor despite a review from Carey. It's just clipping leg-stump.

Carey lbw b Rabada 43(50) [4s-5]

Mulder to Mitchell Starc, byes, FOUR, wayward delivery and four down the leg-side. Well down leg, no chance for Verreynne who dives to his right and he doesn't even get near it
39.1
Mulder to Mitchell Starc, no run, doesn't carry to Bedingham at 1st slip this time. Length delivery outside off, Mitchell Starc gets forward to drive, edges it and he wears a wry smile on his face

Mulder to Mitchell Starc, no run, dropped by Jansen at gully. Khawaja has a big smile watching on from the dressing room. Cummins is trying his best to contain his smile. Length and rising outside off, Mitchell Starc fends at it, simple catch to Jansen who is standing close-in

Yes vital runs indeed. The pitch looks better for batting too but will it change when the
OZ pacers come charging in ? lol
It is never good having to make the highest total of a match to win. Rarely if ever successful.

That’s the thing with the never say die attitude of the Australians especially bowling 4th

This tail wagging is having a psychological effect when SA openers go out there - they have struggled and they will think “I can’t afford to score less than a #10 and #11” which is a lot of pressure.

In all seriousness Sammy should take the WI team on a “field trip” to watch this batting performance. As it shows grit and determination and not just giving your wicket away.
