Root to Gill, 3 runs, too full, flicked away past mid-on and that's the 8th Test fifty for Shubman Gill. Excellent innings under pressure. His team was 0/2. He didn't have many runs after the first two Tests, England chirped around at Lord's as well but he's come out, survived the Archer burst, attacked with the full face of the bat for sumptuous boundaries and was going almost at run-a-ball at one point. One of his fine knocks in Test cricket. Raised the bat to crowd and soaked in the applause. Archer denied him another boundary with a dive at wide long-on.

Poor sportsmanship from England… why offer a draw when both batsmen close to a century, especially one who was approaching a MAIDEN test century! And then to have Stokes ask them if they want to make their centuries against Harry Brooks…. who only bowled 3 overs….!!
