Outgoing President of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), Conde Riley, has spoken out about his decision not to contest the presidency after serving in the post since 2017.

In a statement issued on the matter, Riley admitted the decision, though difficult, was ultimately the right one.

“Over my tenure on the board, I would like to think that I have played a pivotal role in the growth, development, and success of the organisation and the sport of cricket within Barbados but also the wider region,” reflected Riley, who served three terms.

'Not Dinas' why don't you focus on TnT cricket instead of having a nervous break about Bim's ?

As far as i recall....trini batsmen topped the four day runs chart and cleaned up barbados in two days at kensington...the poor man's mecca. plus we won the wicb t20 tournament.

Are you really posting the above, a 50year storm happened every 50 years. Beating Bim and topping the 4 days avg will occur the next 50 years.

Carlos Brathwaite with 4 hits did more to win a wc than the four dancing Harrys you mentioned.

would have never gotten that opportunity if lendl didn't score 80+ in the semifinals against the home team and pre-tournament favorites. at least lendl ensured the west indies would finish with a runners up medal, which still would have been an exceptional finish in light of the teams struggles with uniforms, payment as exposed by sammy in the MoM ceremony after the final

for jumpstart cricket begins with the rise of 'lickit' T20 during which Trinidadian mercenaries abort a WI test tour and start to make money from their overlords in 'lickit' club cricket in India. Besides Lara the tits have produced no one special in test cricket the original and true version of the game. Constantine and Larry Gomes did try the rest were failures including numerous pelters and mediocre batters.

If I was a member of the BCA, it would be difficult to choose from these candidates, Broomes, Hope and Hendy Wallace all graduates from the University of Ashton Hall. All are from the West coast including Philo.
Good luck to the winner.

Ian bishop is a figment of our imagination, so too was Deryck Murray and Sonny Ramadhin. And in some universe, Barbados qualified for the world cup and won three olympic gold medals as well.

Shai Hope might take issue with that statement.

That said…,,,,most of it is accurate. As achievements, he can point to several domestic competition titles for Barbados, getting more Bajan cricketers to participate in regional competition than any of the other territories combined, and helping to secure a World Cup final at Kensington Oval.

As the President of the BCA, those would all be success stories so he can be proud of that.

However, as a CWI Director and responsibility for advancement of WI cricket, he is just as culpable as the others for the state of WI cricket today.

He put Barbados first and that’s his job. Back in the day, that also used to translate to success for West Indies.

Barbados first in this era has had the opposite effect. It has been among the leading factors in the decline of WI cricket culminating in our current state of affairs.

Your quoted statement is proof of that.

How the shyte Bim stop other territories from churning out world beaters of their own? Classy tit bowlers Harold Joseph, Black, Space Teet, pelters Sunil, pal Ramadin and Cooper top drawer batters Lincoln Roberts, Richard Gabriel, Ganga, David Williams, Ice Cream ,etc weren't bred at the Mecca. lol

Hope is a one day player who is still seriously lacking as an international Test batsman. He cannot play short pitched bowling, like all last 20 years WI batsmen, and now he cannot play in the V to a left armed fast bowler. Why would I rate him. Funny thing is he used to be able to.

I thought I was watching primary school cricket watching these fools get out. Reifer should have been fired at the end of the game.
How did you not learn to play an in-ducker from a lefty fast bowler.

Are you blaming Reifer for a guy playing at an international level for flaws?
I have written on GG asking locals to eye him, when he felt something was wrong. I heard of Viv returning home after County and International duties, spending hours working on his game.
Jason Holder have a bended left knee, something that should have been worked on and corrected, a buddy told me about changes in Krigg's batting, seeing him first at the U19 level and then for Barbados.
What areas are these guys working on?
I am tired of writing about Seymour's prep for Australia.
The same Seymour that walked away from DRS, after hours and days of getting him ready for internationals.
Hours and hours of repetition are needed.
Joe Montana can close his eyes and throw to Jerry Rice; they work on patterns not only during the season but in the off season.
