For those defenders of Carty,
I am speaking of present times.

His average, his performances earlier this year aside;
He looks terrible versus Paks.
Can't get the ball of the square,
putting Windies behind from jump.
He needs to be dropped for the 3rd game period.

Windies need a wake up call.
Time for Jangoo or Andrews.
We should not keep players on the bench while other look that bad.

Carty had 21 dot ball in his first 23 balls.
One of the singles was off a misfield.
He received full tosses, half volleys and short balls which he could not hit even for a single.
He needs to be rested.

Jewel Andrew at the moment is poor against spin too.

I would take a gamble on Jangoo, he's someone who sweeps a lot. Might handle the spin better.

Throw him in the middle order and ask the skipper to open the batting.

King should be dropped because he is out of Form and he is Brandon (not Brendan as his duncy coach calls him) King. Sammy should be removed because of lack of qualifications and poor results nothing else. according to Cricinfo, Devon the shell shield bully played 47 ODI. average 24. so King has only played 7 more odi. not sure how you are calculating the 30

I thought you might be mixing him up with the other great Kirean Powell. But Powell played 46 ODI and averaged 22.8

i agree. you are correct. Devon dominated regionals. got 43 tests. Nikita Miller dominated regionals.

In reply to natty_forever I have a right to question his fixation on King who has never showed the propensity for consistency. Yes he can play one or two pretty shots but he flatters to deceive. He lacks the mental fortitude to bat long innings and Sammy needs to cut him loose now as he has given him more than enough opportunity to make a big play.

Now for the Test team he may well continue with him as he just started but he needs a rest from the ODI team as he is holding us back.
