Not sure about clubs... but Berbice Cricket Board is probably right up there as the best cricket board in the region.

Now coming out of the rainy season in Guyana and they already started an U13 and 2 day first division tournaments.

Meanwhile, DCB can't even get their grounds in order as yet... Essequibo probably need to search for the grounds lol

You’re right not to understand the club format in Guyana.

It’s more about community cricket grounds. That infrastructure dictates the audience and playing talents. If not cricket, horse racing.
For our Caribbean audience, most of our talent are coming from communities that were sugar estates centric. This 100% meant that a proper cricket facility was available.
As the sugar estates keep closing, the cricket grounds associated with them-‘gone to pasture’

Does the Berbice Cricket Board have meaningful representation on the GCB?

The region hasn't produced a world class player in decades and yet we got 12 directors collecting money and ain't doing shit!!!

Sammy is definitely only part of the issue there's so much more to fix!!!

Nope. The GCB is controlled by people from Demerara and Essequibo cricket boards.

Think the current president and VP of the GCB are related... both are directors at CWI.

Politics is also involved these days... the other day the GCB openly endorsed a political party for another term in office. Not sure since when that is allowed.

Worth noting is how many cricketers from the Berbice area are now/recently in WI team. At least 5 or 6. So not sure by how much BCB is shut-out of Guyana's cricket decisions.

Won't be surprised by Admin conflicts though, which seems like a common occurrence across the Caribbean cricketing fraternity. Plenty individuals with ambition.

In my honest opinion, Empire should have moved decades ago to a bigger location, as that ground is for U13 cricket.
Wanderer may be the most solid club in Bim.
Spartan have loyal cricketers after having been demoted, and everyone stayed home.
My problem with Spartan is not having a youth program.

QPCC may be the Only private club in the region, that club has two teams playing in the top division.

It’s more about community cricket grounds.

Name the last new community anywhere in the Caribbean to provide open spaces for cricket, football and other sports. Back in the day we built community with open spaces to play. Now yuh lucky if the carpark has netball or basketball poles with hoops.
