@anthonyp

then ask yourself...

Is he there to mentor in a practical fashion or do we expect our lads to instantly UPLOAD how to build an innings via TIK TOK.

Happy to help,

@powen001

Mentor? Who in their righted mind needs a mentor like that? Ah fella that struggles to get it pass the 30 yard circle.

Then again.. he's probably mentoring them on how to block full tosses and not rotate the strike. īģŋ😂īģŋ

@anthonyp

It's nothing to do with non availability of players..... Although, I am one of the harsh critic of Sammy.....his assertion that for overall development of players.....players should play all formats.....since the advent of T-20.....most players, who succeeded at international cricket....were all formats players....from Kohli,Rohit,Bavuma,Smith,Rabada,Brooks... endless list....

Cut to Brathwaite.....he pigeon holed himself as Test cricketer.....that may be one of the reasons for not realising full potential.....he is just 33 years...for batsmen...it's peak...30-36 years....still good amount of cricket left...maybe , he can comeback as better player.....

Not comparing....Hooper, when back to County cricket..Kent....his last few years were way more productive....just hoping..Brathwaite can do something similar....

So its official.. Kraigg Brathwaite is in the Barbados Pride 15 man squad...

Here is the squad

1. Mayers (Captain)

2. Boucher

3. Kraigg

4. McCaskie

5. Jonathan Drakes

7. Demetrius Richards

8. Shamar Springer

9. Kemar Smith

10. Dominic Drakes

11. Joshua Bishop

No space for Motara who made his WI debut recently or Parris, one of the upcoming batsman in the region.

@anthonyp

Are you a follower of Barbados cricket?

Thu, Oct 30, '25 at 10:25 AM

@powen001

This friends selection policy is why Barbados and WI cricket continues to go downhill. There is a lack of fast bowlers in the WI yet we select a bunch of spinners. A lack of young batting talent yet we select both Mayers and KB. Mayyers for experience yes but KB? Will the young players have to wait until they reach 27, 28 etc. before they get experience.

You people in Bim need to stop being so damn conservative Archer and Bethell would still be sitting at home in Bim with the cowards who run Barbados cricket. Every other team have fed young players on the international stage who our youngsters played against. Yet all you see represent Bim is a bunch of 27 - 35 year old's descending from a short hill career.

Zishan Motara, Shaqkere Parris, Shiam Brathwaite, Nimar Bolden, Reneico Smith etc. Better get pass the win at all cost and let player development get you there instead. So being in reserves get you what again? If the regulars stay healthy then another season of development lost.

@seaegg99

i am convinced there is no common sense or philosophy in our selection process

none of this makes sense

why Bobo

why McCaskie
