@Narper
Let us look at it from the performance of the individual in question, firstly, before even considering his merit as a captain.
He scored 42 runs across six innings at an average of 7, with a highest score of 29 - five of his innings brought 13 runs. Those are number 11 numbers.
With the ball in hand, he took 3 wickets at an average of 119. In this test, he managed to go for over 100 in each innings - match figures of 1/265. His trouncing in the second innings was not a pretty sight, going for over 8 runs per over is pathetic. Even for a part time bowler, those figures are very, very poor.
In no way should Chase be anywhere near the test team going forward. He remains a more than useful white ball player but his test career must now be put to bed.
And that will be tea on the final day...
West Indies, chasing 462 to win the match and draw the series, are 138/8 (76 overs) (RR 1.81)
T.Imlach 15* (78 balls, 2 fours)
A.Phillip 10* (28 balls, 2 fours)
J.Duffy 4/42
A.Patel 3/23

A mandatory concussion check for Tevin Imlach. He is fine to continue

Ajaz Patel to Tevin Imlach, no run, ooh, this one rears up from a length around leg-stump, hit one of the footmarks, Tevin Imlach tried to pad it away but got surprised by the extra bounce and sharp turn and hit on the helmet

Ravindra to Anderson Phillip, no run, dropped! Full delivery drifting in, Anderson Phillip looks to block but gets it of the inner half to short leg. The reaction time for Phillips is minimal. He gets both hands to it but it pops out out

Ravindra to Anderson Phillip, out Lbw!! Anderson Phillip has been trapped in front but after a discussion with his partner, he challenges the decision. Looks plumb to the naked eye. Was the arm delivery on a length around off, Anderson Phillip was caught in the creae

Jacob Duffy to Jayden Seales, out Bowled!! That's the final nail in the coffin! Jacob Duffy picks up a fifer and fittingly finishes it off! A booming inswinger on a fuller length that shapes in sharply from outside off from round the wicket, Jayden Seales leans ahead to block but leaves a bat-pad gap. The ball goes right through that and crashes into the stumps. New Zealand win the 3-match series 2-0 and gain some important WTC points.
