great idea. josh, as i said earlier is the bet player of pace bowling in the west indies...him, kirk mckenzie and hodge.
That does not say a lot when the West Indies Achilles heel is actually spin bowling ....

@Kay
nah i don't think so…..it was a pace attack that mauled us for 27. The same attack that we scored 300 plus against on ironically a worse wicket than the Sabina wicket at the Gabba. The entire batting lineup didn’t need changing. Just Kraigg and Athanaze. Kevin Sinclair looked better technically and mentally than those two with his 50 on debut on a difficult wicket. Both were making no runs and not even rotating the strike. Now we have a lineup, with the exception of Brandon king who cannot play aggressive fast bowling, hence 27 all out. in addition to that, every attack these days is pace heavy, down to even bangladesh
@Jumpstart
fully agree, two things for me that make Josh invaluable.
best player against pace in the region but now seems to be improving against spin also.
He has great leadership skills as show
n for both the B team and T and T.
Unforgivable that be was dropped especially when we were playing NZ

Do you think it’s possible to congratulate a player without insularity and whining???
A resounding NO Sir![]()
That ship sailed since 2007
@Raskil
I been saying that for years. When I first saw DaSilva playing for Academy (or was it CCC team) I was expecting to be a top WI opening batsman. Going the keeper route i feel has undermined his development. But he is still one of our best equipped batsman. Josh needs to be on the team sheet and high up the order
Da Silva is making the runs that will force them to bring him back into the test team. Imlach is clearly the finest gloveman in the region but Da Silva must be batting in the top order. He should have been offered the captaincy ahead of Chase, who nowadays, is much better suited to white ball whackabout.
98 runs across his first two innings & now registers his highest first class score (the double ton). The man is still only 27 year old and should have a major role in West Indies test cricket going forward.
@4REALQUICKS
sammy say he was interviewed...how they gave it to a professional cricket failure is beyond me but that saved him from going to answer for 27 all out. you know sammy was nowhere near a press conference after that game
@4REALQUICKS
Josh might be too whitish for elevation to captaincy, even with a Trini accent, for some people taste...😂😀
@sudden
Thank god bajans voices not like that. The cockney pidgin plus the drawl with a bias on r, I and o would have been unbearable
There is a place for Josh in Windies top order.
I believe that Jangoo should be in consideration as well.
The issue here for me is that Scammy link players in groups:
namely, Keepers, openers, top order etc.
If you put Imlach, Hope, Jangoo, Josh, Hamilton, as keepers
Then Scammy picks 2, we have issues.
I say, we need to group Hope, Jangoo, and Josh as batsmen.
They should compete with the batsmen for a place.
Similar to the issue with Holder and Greaves.
Greaves is a batsman, while Holder is an allrounder.
I await the outcome of the semis and finals, before selecting a squad.
