It's not just Grenada that is incompetent - it's the whole Caribbean - including Guyana.

Sadly, you are 100% correct. WC2007 will reveal more of our incompetence to the world.

Look Gyal, messing up in Grenada is the same as in the rest of the Caribbean.

If you trying to make this a Grenada worse than the rest ting yu far off base.

As a matter of fact embarrasment for the region just start.

And whats this about Allyu mess.

Listen I'm a Caribbean person born in Grenada, living i the US. If its one thing that I have learnt that all this stupid seperation among the islands is just shyte.

It doesn't matter how much I explain to white Americans where I'm from from time to time I'm still that Jamaican guy.

Conspiracy Theory? The only alternative is abject stupidity/ineptitude. Somebody needs some prison time and some lashes! Everyone in the right mind knows that Taiwan and China are mortal enemies. So its not like mixing up the T&T anthem and JA anthem. The point is these countries have missiles pointed at each other and you play the other country's anthem?

Why do our leaders feel the need to be so wordy and aloof in their speeches. That apology sounded almost as bad as the playing of the wrong anthem.

You know, I was thinking the same thing. At the end of the speech, I thought he was going to say condolence instead of apology...

In reply to anandgb I suspect you are being being "funny" but this is a serious mess up and I wish it did not happen. I hope its not beginning of things to come in CWC 2007.

Dr. Mitchell has a job on his hand to make this right.

More woe for Mitchell

The bank is seeking to recover US$21.6 million from the Mitchell government plus interest payments for the loands that were taken to faciliate construction of the first sporting stadium at QUeen's Park, the Ministerial Complex at the Botanical Gardens, the agricultural sector, and for road construction projects on Mainland Grenada and the sister isle of Carriacou.

The legal action in New York follows close on the heels of another court action in the U.S against Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Gregory Bowen who has been sued along with three Russians by american oil investor, Jack Grynberg for US 500,000.00 over a deal that went sour.

Grynberg has also filed a multi-million dollar arbitration proceedings against the Mitchell government in Europe over the decision taken in St. George's not to honour its contractual obligations to him

Mitchell made his bed, he has to lie in it. And of course it's common folk that will pay the price.

Some of the responses here are more revealing than the story itself, a lot of "only in the caribbean" and "that's jes how we do"

BULLSHIT!

This type of thing happens all over the world, would y'all have said that if owen arthur went and gave a female head of state a back rub in an official meeting???

Self hate is a hell of a thing.
