NELSON, New Zealand – West Indies selectors have called up three players to join the team in New Zealand for the two-match Twenty20 series.
Coach Ottis Gibson said that leg-spinner Samuel Badree, all-rounder Andre Russell and wicketkeeper-batsman Andre Fletcher are on their way from the Caribbean to join their team mates for the T20 matches.
Gibson confirmed the addition of the players during a post-match interview following the fourth One Day International (ODI) here on Saturday.
“There are some guys coming in for the Twenty20s. There are three guys coming. Samuel Badree is on his way; Andre Russell is on his way and Andre Fletcher,” he said.
ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Antiguan administrator, Derrick Nicholas, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association (LICA).
The appointment of a CEO is a first for the LICA administration but falls into place with a drive to overall the current state of the game in the sub-region.
Nicholas said he is looking forward to leading a team of professionals as they seek to revitalize the game within the Leeward Islands.

A fine display of batting by Kennar Lewis backed by an all-round performance from Damion Jacobs assisted David Bernard Jr XI to a 69-run victory over Paul Palmer Jr XI in yesterday's senior 50-over trial game at Sabina Park.
Batting first, Bernard's XI piled up 238 all out from their allotted 50 overs, which saw Lewis mounting 94 runs from 126 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes. He was strongly supported by Tamar Lambert, who amassed a quick 40 from 36 balls, including three fours and a lone six, and Jacobs, who made 22 not out
Sidelined senior Jamaica wicketkeeper batsman Carlton Baugh Jr is now awaiting the verdict of the Jamaica Cricket Association's (JCA) Disciplinary panel following a hearing yesterday.
The 31-year-old gloveman was barred from training with the rest of the squad as a result of a stand-off between himself and the national selection panel, headed by Chairman Wavell Hinds.
