Guyana claim Regional Under-15 title

Kingston, Jamaica - Guyana secured the 2014 Regional Under-15 title with an 11-run victory over Jamaica today at Melbourne. There were also wins for the Windwards and Barbados in the final round of matches.

AT MELBOURNE: Guyana saw off Jamaica fairly easily in the end, although there seemed to be a contest in the closing stages. Batting first, Guyana scored 248/7 with Stepe Deonarine top scoring for the hosts with an unbeaten 60. His knock came from just 79 balls.

Kris Ramnarine was also in fine form for the Guyanese, stroking 54 from 79 balls as well, hitting six boundaries in the process. Wickets were spread almost evenly for the Jamaican bowlers but Raewin Senior emerged the pick with figures of 2-36.
